J.J. Abrams: Lost
File Video I have it ★★★★★
One of the most beautiful and touching TV series of all time. The ending, well, it was a bittersweet blow to the heart, one of those unforgettable moments...
Jeff Buckley: Grace
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Powerful, moving, angelic album that goes straight to the heart. Jeff could have had a brilliant career like his genius father Tim. One of the most direct and spontaneous albums in history.
Jefferson Airplane: Volunteers
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
An absolute masterpiece for Jefferson Airplane, who close with a bang an unrepeatable and absolute cycle of albums. "Hey Friedrich" remains the landmark of the record.

For me, the definitive piece of Slick is "Hey Fredrick," including the Kaukonen-esque ride of the second part. But THE piece of the album, inevitably, remains "Wooden Ships."

    Incredible even "Wooden Ships".
Jefferson Airplane: Surrealistic Pillow
File Video I lack ★★★★★
Jefferson Airplane, the story of a band capable of producing nothing but masterpieces, starting from this, a drug in its purest form.
Jefferson Airplane: After Bathing at Baxter's
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
After the incredibly important and historic "Surrealistic Pillow," the Jefferson Airplane reassert themselves on the music scene of the late '60s with their second masterpiece, even more complex in its compositions...my god, Grace Slick's vocalizations are UNIQUE!!!
Jethro Tull: Thick As A Brick
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
After the sensational Aqualung, Jethro Tull, with a megagalactic suite of 43 minutes, create their best album. An outstanding record!

I prefer Aqualung, but it's definitely one of their best. I think I might be the only one who doesn't really care for 'A Passion Play'; in fact, I'll say it: I don't like it!
  • tonysoprano
    23 aug 16
I'm missing passion. I don't think you're the only one. In fact, everyone criticizes it for being too wordy.
  • tonysoprano

    *a passion

Well, actually, it has a great reputation on the web, but here on Debaser, I'm not sure; I've only been here for too short a time!
  • tonysoprano
    23 aug 16
Hj and battlegods don't speak very highly of it.
  • tonysoprano
    23 aug 16
Here on deb, it is criticized for being verbose.

So I’m with them :) If I were you, I’d definitely give it a listen too!
P.S. I’m reading your review on Czesław Niemen, an artist I didn't know at all! And I thought I had a basic knowledge of music. In 10 minutes I’ll listen to the album and let you know :D
  • tonysoprano
    23 aug 16
Look, I also have this vast musical knowledge, you know.
  • SalvaDM
    23 aug 16
But of course not! I didn't mean to offend you, especially since that message wasn't directed at you. Before discovering Debaser, I thought I had a good knowledge of music, but I have to take back all my previous thoughts now that I'm here. No worries <3

In the sense that everything I know, I have known for about a year.

The best for me by Tull, with Stand Up, Aqualung, and Minstrel in the Gallery...

I miss Stand up and minstrel in the gallery.

Get them somehow, they are worth so much. Then all of JT's works/masterpieces are excellent until Songs from the Wood in 1977 (let's also include Heavy Horses from '78)...
  • SalvaDM

It's Stormwatch from '79 :P Personally, after 'A', I don't know anything else about JT. Is there anything else worth mentioning??
Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced
File Audio I lack ★★★★★
Jimi Hendrix picked up the guitar and, in just one hour, changed the game, turned everything upside down, with just one album.
John Coltrane: A love supreme
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The free flow of thought in jazz, experienced in a spiritual dimension, described in a whopping 32 minutes. A fucking masterpiece.
Joni Mitchell: Blue
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Amazing, one of the most beautiful albums I have ever listened to in my life.

A masterpiece, but I find myself always listening only to those with guitar. Hejira is above all for me.
  • tonysoprano

I still have to listen to it.

Joni Mitchell: Hejira
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Spectacular album, one of the most intense I've ever listened to in my life, just slightly better than Blue.
Judas Priest: Sad Wings Of Destiny
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Supreme album for the discography of Judas Priest. Rob Halford's vocal performance surpasses every possible and imaginable scale of greatness. I still get chills listening to "Victim Of Changes"!

You have defined a wonderful album, often overshadowed by later works, but in my opinion, the best of the 70s for the Birmingham band. Well done, usually no one pays attention to this record, but it's a gem of hard rock of all time.

    My favorite is 'dreamer deceiver'
  • tonysoprano
    17 aug 16
It was the first true masterpiece by Judas, as the debut was slightly immature. Nevertheless, Painkiller and Stained Class are the other two albums that truly deserve this title.

Calmly add 'defenders of The faith', even if just for 'The sentinel', which embodies the spirit and grandeur of heavy metal.

The Judas are my favorites in heavy metal.

Let's not forget that historic live.

Unleashed in the East is an insane live album, too bad it was doctored in the studio, especially regarding Hatford's vocals. Anyway, for me their best are this one (70), British Steel (80), Painkiller (90), but they’ve made all great albums, at least as long as the Tipton/KK Downing duo was around.
Judas Priest: Painkiller
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Masterpiece...a fucking masterpiece...epic beyond belief, the title track is historical, and the rest is no less. Every now and then, I find myself, in the shower, belting out Painkiller (even though I nail about 3/4 of the notes, XD)
Judas Priest: Stained Class
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
Do you want to see my impression while listening? Look at the cover and you will get the answers you want. Mind-bending, ear-splitting, just how I like it, Masterpiece.
