In just 50 minutes, Genesis produces their masterpiece and firmly establishes themselves among the greatest progressive bands of all time.

"The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway," or the wonderful yet dramatic and convoluted adventure of Rael, who finds himself unwillingly in the "hell" of Broadway, among bleeding lambs, trapped in an ever-tightening cage, and other surreal situations that make his tortuous journey an experience that can often happen to those who struggle to face the world. A TRUE MASTERPIECE OF THE GENESIS DISCOGRAPHY, although I still prefer the magical "Foxtrot" by a hair, it’s more appropriate to consider this as a separate album in the Genesis discography due to its uniquely developed and particular concepts.

Gentle Giant: Three Friends

A concept album about the friendship between three friends, who find themselves forced to part ways to pursue their dreams, only to reunite after a thousand adventures... From a musical standpoint, well, I think words are unnecessary to describe it: an absolute masterpiece once again for the Gentle Giant discography, exactly between "Acquiring The Taste" and "Octopus". Damn how much I love them.

By coincidence, it was my first encounter with the giant... and it was true love. I took the reverse journey, discovering many gems of the same kind, but... the glass house remains a must. The only one in a glass house contains more ideas than many LPs by other artists; or rather, anyone who had the mountain of insights present in that track instead of a song could have made an LP... and maybe even a double one. Paradoxically, precisely because of its (beautiful) complexity, it is not always indicated as a masterpiece.

No seriously. I’m telling you the truth, the album is beautiful (and has two or three wonderful gems) but out of the first 7 by Gentle Giant, it's the only one I have never (yet) been able to fully love, the only one that sometimes feels a bit self-indulgent in certain virtuosos and a little uninspired. Less engaging than the others. For me. It remains, however, a great album with a couple of masterpiece tracks inside, I mean.
