Great fusion of adrenaline, melody, and psychedelia, once again. But how powerful are the records from the late sixties?

Undoubtedly beautiful, but it is not the masterpiece that everyone believes it to be. "The Wizard" is a gem, and the rest is excellent as well, but both "Salisbury" and "The Magician's Birthday" surpass it significantly.

I've never found unanimous consensus on one of their albums; for me, the pinnacle remains Very 'eavy very 'umble due to the excellent sequence of tracks it has. The Salisbury suite has never captivated me, and fortunately, they avoided making more of those, while the title track of Magician's Birthday alternates between great moments and embarrassingly awkward dips in style (that Happy birthday to you sounds like something out of a rotten egg toss). Aside from all that, it's a band I love for their unique balance between Hard Rock and Progressive, which is also present in their more recent works.

For me, they don't have an album that can be defined as a masterpiece. In my opinion, they are all between good and excellent from 70 to 75, let's say the Byron period; from there on, they've been on a decline. I still like them a lot, though...
