Rainbow: rising
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Official introducer of power and epic metal, this album has set the standard more than any other work by the "cousins" Deep Purple. One of the most beautiful hard rock albums that exist.
Rammstein: Mutter
CD Audio Not intrested ★★
Another album for posers who just want to "get high." On the other hand, the creators are still the most useless and overrated band on the planet. Basic guitar parts: Burzum and Quorthon are geniuses in comparison! Ag, yeah, this is supposed to be industrial. Well, I guess I'll go back and listen to Killing Joke...

p.s. I who have never picked up an instrument: if I were locked in a recording studio for a few days, I would probably already be able to play the record, both for the guitar and the keyboard...

However, I've already told you, in my opinion, you're mistaken about their perspective. Their albums are amusing sideshow phenomena, and there's a lot of irony in what they do; just look at their videos post sehnsucht. Regarding industrial, I can agree with you, but their style is inspired by Laibach, and it's almost identical. Listen to this or the album Jesus Christ Superstar. I understand that Rammstein might suck, but why (according to critics) are they exempt and Laibach not?

the link works after a few seconds, I would like your opinion. then, of course, if you don’t like them you have every right not to listen to them, no worries :)

Hi psyco. Firstly, I’m sorry to disappoint you, knowing that you like Rammstein; my outburst came because I tried to give them a chance with this album. Unfortunately, I just can’t do it – I lost interest by the second track. Despite that, I tried to hang on until almost the end, but ended up stopping. I know I shouldn’t, in terms of a serious evaluation, but I still reported my feelings in the assessment above. At this point, I also apologize for the first sentence; maybe I exaggerated, but, as I said, I was really "scazzato..." That said, I know and like Laibach (including the piece you posted). I have Opus Dei and I always enjoy listening to it. Why them and not the others? Look, it’s the same comparison I always make between Rush and Dream Theater: the latter are just (in my opinion) a bad copy of everything the Canadians said with their albums. For me, the Laibach-Rammstein comparison works exactly like that; besides, I also find the Slovenians superior, musically speaking.

Hi there, thanks for the message :)

You can't compare the schwedeneisbecher with the Nordic pines... Burzum spent 17 years in "hotel," as he called it... and Quorthon miserably collapsed in the middle of the satanic marathon... can you even compare with these DDR nostalgics?
Ravi Shankar: Portrait of Genius

transcendental masterpiece of Hindustani music.
Rhapsody: Legendary Tales
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
I have seen tree spirits, ridden unicorns, faced dragons, crossed plains and forests, wielded shining blades... it was the beginning of a legend...

Power Speed Fantasy Metal! (Let no one use the word Epic though, eh... in that case I might get angry and lay down the emerald sword to behead you with a double-headed axe!)
Rhapsody: Symphony Of Enchanted Lands
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The most beautiful of the Trieste band. Folk, classical, and baroque, brought together on a tapestry of dynamic and pleasant rhythms. Innovative.
I must say that I adore this band. In the studio, they shine, but live, not at all! A Staropoli shrouded in recorded effects of choirs and instruments, a Turilli who couldn’t be more anonymous, and a Guers (on bass) who could have just stayed in the dressing room, as his instrument is utterly pointless. The exceptional performance of Lione and a raging Hozlaw behind the drums are worth saving. This is not a type of music to be presented live! Or at least, not in this way!
Richard Benson: L'Inferno dei Vivi
CD Audio Not intrested ★
Intrigued by the review (which remains flawless), I decided to give it a listen. Richard may bring a few smiles during his TV appearances, but in this case, it just doesn't take off, neither as a "musical" artist nor as a goofy character. Horrible record.

Ricky Gianco:
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
A delicate and powerful concentrate of emotions, from the irresistible blues of "campo minato" to the sweetness of "Un amore," to the revolutionary vein of "Fango" and the proletarian anger of "Davanti al nastro che corre." An album that goes straight to the heart. In the best tradition of singer-songwriter music.
Rino Gaetano: Ingresso libero
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
When the sharpest classic rock meets songwriting, works like this are born. An intelligently ignorant album, performed by a drunkard who builds his lyrics with an irresistible string of poetic allegories. An anomalous (and still unsurpassed) way of making music!
Roberto Benigni: La Vita E' Bella
DVD Video I have it ★★★★★
In here, it has been discredited too much. I'm not an expert, so I won't dare to say that it's one of the most beautiful Italian films in history; I will only say that it is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen.

I read it, dear, I read them all before writing this definition. It's pointless to tell you that for me the best one is yours, but not to kiss ass, but because it's true: the only user who understood the true spirit of the film.

I'm a hopeless romantic :-) these films make me cry buckets of tears, I can't help it. Masterpiece for me too!
I recommend a similar film, TRAIN DE VIE, maybe just a tad better than this one.

We are beyond the limits of bearability. It's true that you are born a pyromaniac and die a firefighter (or a pump operator) so many times.
Roberto Vecchioni: Samarcanda
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Practically perfect. From the folkloric and galloping title track (supported by the masterful violin parts of Angelo Branduardi), to the theatrical "L'ultimo spettacolo" (which contains one of the most beautiful lyrical passages of Italian singer-songwriter music). An album divided between rock, folk, and psychedelia, therefore quite polished from a musical standpoint, which was very avant-garde for those times, given the sparse arrangements proposed during that period by some colleagues of the "professore."
  • anfoxx

The folkloric and galloping title track is a fantastic plagiarism of a song by the Crazy Horse written by Neil Young (Dance, dance, dance).
  • Dragonstar
    28 apr 15
What the hell does that have to do with anything? Even Whole Lotta Love by the Zep is a plagiarism of Willie Dixon, and yet everyone is fine with that. At least Samarcanda features different vocal lines and, above all, a different text. If you have the courage to criticize this album, I can’t help but imagine that, despite your undeniable culture, your musical preferences must be pretty limited... how sad...

    28 apr 15
Come on, as a comparison it's a bit out of place. You need love is a completely different song from whole lotta love. We can put it however we want, but the violin riff from Samarcanda is very similar. I also really love Samarcanda; it was one of my favorite songs back in elementary school.

My favorite remains 'Canzone per Sergio', with lyrics of rare beauty.
Roberto Vecchioni: Io non appartengo più
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
In a pop, delicate, and symphonic style, the professor shares bittersweet reflections on the present, giving the work the most fitting title to convey his thoughts. The first part is catchier with a rhythmic "Le mie donne," which breaks the calm atmosphere of the album. Also excellent is the spoken and intimate "Ho conosciuto il dolore." The rest is a gentle blend of melancholy and peace.
Roberto Vecchioni: Milady
Vinile I have it ★★★★
Those who know Vecchioni from the 70s, that is, his songwriting suspended between folk and rock, will have a nice surprise: a pop with a soft atmosphere, over which the (always magnificent) lyrics of this work unfold, which in addition to the famous "Alessandro e il mare" and the title track, offers a triptych of intense romanticism with "Certezze," "Parlami d'amore Mariù," and "Leonard Cohen." It's a pity only for the last two pieces, lacking the same inspiration.

I miss this, for example. Well, I barely know 4-5 of the Prof's good albums.
I don't understand the criticism. It's true that this isn't the usual Stones who were attracted by the rise of psychedelic rock back in the day, but it's still one of the band's best productions, even if it's not for everyone. The lukewarm reception led Jagger and the others to shelve this type of sound. Beggars Banquet is indeed more accessible, as well as the historic manifesto of the band.

I completely agree with you. TSMR is a very underrated album. In my opinion, it’s even better than "Beggar's Banquet." For many, this may seem heretical, but I would encourage taking a moment to think about it before jumping to conclusions.
  • Dragonstar
    8 nov 15
You know, in fact, that I wanted to write it too; I almost prefer this. Banquet is more varied: it has the opener that encapsulates the compositional method applied in this album, there’s even a great final gospel, passing through moments of country, blues, hard blues, and rock & roll. The manifesto of the Stones, we said, and that's fine by me.

I am passionate about psychedelic rock, especially from the period of '66 to '70, which is why I found this album a pure masterpiece, perhaps even better than its predecessor, I have no problem saying it.
  • Psychopathia
    8 nov 15
I also think it’s a nice album. I like Banquet less because it's too bluesy for my taste, but I recognize its greatness.
  • Carlos
    8 nov 15
Of the golden period, it’s the only one I never listen to. Not ever. I just don’t like it because there’s this "trendy" psychedelic influence, let’s say (not that eclecticism and the echo of new trends are negative, but in my opinion, the experiment here didn’t succeed like it did in Between The Buttons, which is truly eclectic and perhaps too underrated). I’m glad they set aside certain sounds. Considering that afterwards they gave us Beggars, Let It Bleed (my favorite), Sticky Fingers, and Exile, I’d say it’s much better this way.

    8 nov 15
But the album is beautiful, that's undeniable. It's just that "Aftermath" and "Il quartetto delle meraviglie" with its blend of Blues/Rock'n roll/R&B/Soul etc. is, FOR ME, superior. I choose "Beggar's Banquet" without a second thought compared to this, but that doesn't take away from the beauty of this work. They dove into psychedelia because you can hear so, so, so much Jones here (to be honest, also in "Aftermath") and Jones was the most "psychedelic" spirit of the group.
Roy Harper: Stormcock
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Regarding Stormcock: a sparse and poetic musical gem. An album where singer-songwriter, folk, and world music come together in a single acoustic creature of immense beauty.
  • bluesboy94
    7 jan 15
Masterpieces are above all those records (like "Stormcock," "Astral Weeks," "Songs of Leonard Cohen"; just to give three examples) where with few means (guitar, voice, and little else, without resorting to electronics and without falling into self-indulgent experimentation) a remarkable depth and a wide range of atmospheres and different sensations are achieved. I hope to find this record somewhere because I really want to keep it on my shelf.
Roy Harper: Flat Baroque and Berserk
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Respectful unplugged, suspended between Dylan and British tradition, with an adrenaline-pumping final twist. A masterpiece.
Running Wild: Death or Glory
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Just listening to the introduction is enough to catch a whiff of salty air! Just Riding The Storm makes you want to buy it. Then, besides the other gems, Battle of Waterloo kicks off the process of patriotic themes that will further develop from Masquerade onwards. A must-have!
Running Wild: Under Jolly Roger
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Aside from the anthem of the title track, which has long been delivered to artistic immortality, the rest of the tracklist features a series of good songs, but still immature compared to what the band will express with the masterpieces of the nineties. For the connoisseurs.
Rush: Hemispheres
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Incredible. The opener is not just hard prog, but at times reveals even a proto-epic metal spirit! The same goes for "The Trees," which also contains some unplugged-style fantasy passages! Not to mention the excellent and rocking "Circumstances" and a final suite that showcases the band’s prog side. In short, an album that, like Rising by Rainbow, could have inspired multiple musical genres.
