Beautiful. Among my favorites by Guccio. An album that has been covered practically in its entirety, and La locomotiva was rearranged by the Modena City Ramblers in their second album La grande famiglia. "Let proletarian justice triumph!"
Francesco Guccini: Ritratti

"We found ourselves together and began to talk about what we were doing, about what we had done, and we realized that so many songs made many years ago were still, or at least I hope, very relevant to us, so we said to ourselves: why not redo them?"

Great album, indeed. Released at a point in his career when Franco decided to revolutionize the experimental formula of his 1970s works, partly recycling his past influences but incorporating them into a more popular and catchy compositional technique: the little song. A fully successful experiment.

Franco Battiato: Fetus
CD Audio I have it
This work can be considered the first electronic music album from Italy, the first progressive work by Battiatto, or the first concept album about biological life. Everyone can see it as they wish, but the fact remains that “Fetus” marks the debut of one of the most exceptional (literally in the sense of unusual, special, constituting an exception) and representative Italian artists.

Great record, and the subsequent "Pollution" and "Sulle corde di Aries" are even better. Then Franco's experimental streak took on such sophistication that works like "M.lle le gladiator," "L'egitto prima delle sabbie," and "Battiato" became invaluable. Only "Clic" remains, definitely lighter to listen to. But after the undeniable value of the initial trilogy, we would have to wait for "L'era del cinghiale bianco," an album in which Battiato decided to simplify his musical proposal. A wise choice that served as a springboard for a series of excellent records.

They are the Gang Of Four, the Band of Four (just like the one back in Mao's time), and they are not the only ones in that portrait full of social anguish and student upheaval that shakes British ’77.

it has a completely new sound for the band. It has a more pop sound and was accompanied by great success, driven by hit singles and strong sales. Many lyrics speak of Love's resentment for her husband's death. "Northern Star," "Playing Your Song," and "Malibu" are considered songs about Kurt Cobain.

Closing our eyes and paying tribute to a guitarist who laid the foundational stones, we might be able to envision ourselves in some dimly lit venue with a sixties vibe, to truly feel the roots of who we are.

For me, the Jeff Beck on these records is on par with Clapton, Hendrix, or Page. It's a shame that afterwards he lost a bit of his way, as he wouldn’t produce albums of such depth anymore. A small aside, you can listen to the fantastic Rod Stewart here; just check out "Let Me Love You Baby" to believe it.

Jovanotti: Lorenzo 1994
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Lorenzo 1994 is a dense magma of sounds, words, and emotions, ranking fifth in the Rolling Stone Italia magazine's list of the 100 greatest Italian albums of all time. The arrangements are skillfully crafted with blends of rap, funk, jazz, ethnic music, and the inevitable and beautiful bass lines by Saturnino.

nihilism in its purest form
We're not talking about a particularly remarkable job overall, quite the opposite, but the impression that the leader of the New York band that's been the talk of the decade still finds genuine enjoyment in being in front of a microphone, spinning his trivial tales with a delightfully shambolic style and low-tier tricks, is somewhat reassuring and leaves us hopeful for a future that could unexpectedly turn out to be less bitter than anticipated.
With their hybrid of hardcore vehemence and dark desolation, made of tribal rhythms, mechanical sounds, and distorted electronics, Jaz Coleman's Killing Joke laid the foundations for the birth of industrial music. ondarock
