Yes: Time And A Word
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Very good album finally, both the first and last tracks are very good.

I definitely prefer the first namesake; I've always found this one a bit bland, but still good, I suppose.

Why "finally"? It doesn’t say much to me; I also prefer the first one, if I have to choose. And then, well, the golden triad.

I find that this is underrated. I prefer it to the previous one and consider it only slightly inferior to the next.

What can I say? If I had made this record, I would be happy. Trust me.

Well, I get it, but when a prog-head (like me) starts saying, "Well, nice, great instrumental sections, cool idea... yeah, but... what a watered-down broth... so boring," there's something wrong, because it doesn't happen with the previous ones.

2 stars, but that's just too few. It could be worse.
  • hjhhjij

Well, I wouldn't put more than 3 anyway, and pana is stricter than me with the grades.

What doesn’t convince you about this album?
  • hjhhjij

In many ways, it's a watered-down broth, but where is the beauty and inspiration of the previous three albums? This is a beautifully played album but completely soulless, and that's not a good thing. Bruford had already escaped, and even Wakeman will go into hiding after this diluted behemoth.

And then you rated Swordfishtrombones a 4, we're not friends anymore :(

It would be between the 4th and the 5th.

Waits has done excellent work. There's no question about it.

In my opinion, some ideas present on the second album are among the best they've come up with, but it lacks the blend of the previous ones. For the first song, we're at that level (again, in my opinion).

"Waits has done great work. No arguments there" I would love to see it :D How are you struggling? You've given almost only 4 or 5 :)

Let's say it's a strong two, but I can't bring it to a three. There are good moments, I won't argue that, but overall I find it unmanageable in terms of duration and dispersion.

Great album, the best since Relayer. Oh, is Relayer the one before? Well.

The gates of delirium (relayer) is simply a masterpiece. For me.
Yes: Tormato
CD Audio I have it ★★
The memorable thing is undoubtedly the beautiful cover. As for the rest, it's an ugly record, worse than the previous one, which is also ugly, and the next one, which is my favorite of the post-Close to The Edge era. There are few moments of worth, slightly better than what will happen starting from the turn of 90125.

Basically, I agree, but if you think it's the absolute worst, try listening to the very last one (I wouldn't recommend it anyway...)

Calm down, it doesn't seem like the worst to me. Even just BIg Generator I like less.
Yes: Drama
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Well, all in all I like it. Much less pretentious than the previous ones, it definitely leans towards AOR, but it’s a nice album, not yet garish like those that will come.
Yes: Big Generator

Perhaps not entirely to be discarded, but certainly a disappointing, trendy pop album. A band I have overestimated.

But what does it have to do with it, this is really one of their worst, I would say they have done much, much, much better. This is just trivial stuff.

AOR flat and uninspired. A few acceptable tricks partially save the day.

It didn't blow me away, but it's also true that I need to listen to it again because I don't remember it at all. Of course, I'm not talking about Yessongs, of which the cover appeared on the left, but about their debut album.
Yes: The Yes Album

Sometimes more inspired than the previous one, other times with a more squinted eye towards the charts. A good album, not a masterpiece, for me. Best tracks: "Yours Is No Disgrace" and "Perpetual Change."

De gustibus, I actually prefer it to Fragile. However, I don't agree with the winking at the charts (definitely not) for the rest, it’s cool :)

Heart Of The Sunrise is incredibly badass, and it has an insane bass line.

3 - 3.5 for a good prog album, which I have, however, reevaluated negatively.
