Milestone.
Jethro Tull: Aqualung

Among the great scams in rock history. Often mediocre tracks that, besides that, are repetitive.

No, it's not their best as history would have it (the best is with the first two), but in my opinion, it deserves a solid 4 balls; it's much more enjoyable than Thick As A Brick, which, in the long run, can be a bit heavy. There are a couple of fillers ("Hymn 43," maybe "Wind Up"), but songs like "Mother Goose," "Cross Eyed Mary," and "Locomotive Breath" are frighteningly good. Even "Cheap Day Return" is a little gem...

Damn you Wind Up filler can't be heard :D Anyway, I prefer this to the debut and even to Stand Up, but we're just splitting hairs here. I can't stand two balls, damn it.

Masterpiece of masterpieces, at least in female songwriting.

They completely ripped me off, I think. Wonderful record.

In the meantime, I'm collecting it so I don't forget. I still have to get into the genre, so right now, beyond Mitchell's incredible interpretation, it means little to me. When I'm more comfortable with the jazz patterns of this work, I'll revisit it.

Oh yes, because this is pure Jazz, this is THE Jazz album by Joni, now completely absorbed in the genre (she had even collaborated with Mingus…). You know what I’m saying? Try the live "Shadows and Light" if you don't know it yet, trust me, you'll like it more quickly. It’s Jazz, but also with the old pieces, and Mitchell leading a Jazz-Rock band made up of Pastorius, Metheny, Don Alias, Mays, and Michael Brecker! If you don’t know it, trust me.

Yes, I know that live performance because my father is in love with it and has shown it to me a ton of times! I really like it, but it's sort of halfway between the early Joni and this one, maybe more relatable for me.

I would like to listen to Heijira, which I heard a long time ago but I can't remember it anymore. However, I know Amelia, which I like as a song :)

Yes, "Shadows and Light" is a bit of her definitive album (in fact, after this, the descent began, quality-wise), it summarizes all that Mitchell had been up to that point, but with an amazing band behind her. I've already expressed myself on "Hejira," "Amelia" is beautiful, and it can also happen that a tear slips out while listening to it. Anyway, have fun.

Bought months ago on the recommendation of Mr. Hj, and I find it to be a really nice little disc; over time I’m sure you will definitely appreciate it.

At this point: The Hissing I already know that pana knows it and likes it (but he doesn't like "The Jungle Line," what a shame) but we haven't mentioned "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" yet, a crazy album, perhaps his most experimental, anyway a blast (and, of course, with a spine-tingling Pastorius, as well as the first appearance of one Wayne Shorter on a Joni album, then this one will come).
Nothing special

A four very close to a five. Some attempts at experimentation that didn't quite succeed (the Jungle Line) but also pieces of absolute value.

This is unfamiliar to me.. is it from the jazz era? A good purchase?

A fantastic purchase Hell, it's the beginning of the Jazz era, Pastorius isn't here yet, but what tracks! For me, it's among his best albums, I particularly highlight 'Harry's House', but really all the tracks are amazing. Even 'the Jungle Line' which I think is incredibly successful and ahead of its time. Cinquissimo

Everard said it all. But if you want to be completely safe hell, buy the next one.
