High-class pop, for a skilled craftsman with a somewhat dusty memory. Let's dust it off, for heaven's sake, and relisten to this beautiful pop album, fresh, catchy, never mundane, peaking with "Pina colada (escape song)" which is truly one of the brightest pop tracks of the late 70s!

    But what are you pulling out for me...stuff from a long time ago, on vinyl. I recommend some of his great pop productions, SAILOR: Trouble, SPARKS: Big Beat, and especially STRAWBS: Deep Cuts.

    Holmes was also a prominent producer in the '70s, working alongside Jeffrey Lesser, in Deep Cuts and he was also an additional keyboardist; I love that album and its soft-progressive atmospheres.

    In the meantime, I got my hands on Deep Cuts, which I didn't have. I had trusted the discography on Allmusic that gave it only 2 and a half... I also snagged Sailor, then I'll let you know what I think... tnx for the tips.

    The career of the Strawbs in the second half of the '70s has been the subject of relentless mockery, which I find incomprehensible; the album is not innovative, but the attention to sound is exceptional and the production is truly excellent. You're welcome.

Truly, a band left to rot in oblivion for no reason. In fact, in the Grunge scene, they stood out for their originality and depth, as this beautiful album can demonstrate. Listen to "solar sister" to believe it. A song that gains points over time. A must-have.

Dec 2000. At a friend's house, I slapped this vinyl on the turntable... I don't know who kept me from sneaking that record away from my friends, as it was gathering dust. But 10 minutes later, I was at the corner store buying the CD, which is still spinning in the player of my Peugeot 206 4 x 4.

The best album by Toto. OK, it doesn't have the (commercial) peaks of Toto and Toto IV, there are no chart-topping singles, but the compositional quality here is consistent and medium-high across all tracks. Great album!

    Too overrated. It's not Shorter's best record. The best are, in order, Juju & Adam's Apple. It wasn't a disappointment, but since I listened to it after the aforementioned (masterpieces), it left me slightly unsatisfied... I was expecting something that would turn my guts inside out, and instead... it's "just" (forgive me) a great album.
