Question: does the remastered edition make sense to exist and be listened to, or should I get the original one with the black and white cover? (In other words, has the work been distorted or just improved a bit?)

Hi, if you find the triple vinyl in its beautiful original '70s box set, that's the right choice. The 2001 CD version, the one with the colorful cover, omits the third disc (the one with the jam sessions featuring Derek And The Dominos with Clapton and others) to add tracks at the end of the second CD. However, there are some added gems on the first CD like the stunning "I Live For You" and the first take of "Beware Of Darkness." The booklet includes the last notes written by George in his own hand, with thanks for the first time to Phil Collins who played on "The Art Of Dying."

Thank you! Since I now exclude vinyls a priori (I can't even listen to the ones I have, let alone new ones), I'm asking you (since you know more than I do) if the remastering of the CD in 2001 involved a major reshaping of the songs. I gathered that the wall of sound has been scaled back, and I wanted to understand by how much. To be precise: I’m currently listening to the colored cover version (found it in a library), and it seems to me that the jams are at the end of the second CD. Perhaps they're not the same as the original?

Yes, they are the same. It seems to me that a reduction of the typical Spector sound wall has been done to improve the overall blend... but technically, I don't know more than that. Anyway, it’s a great reissue.

Well. I'll stop here and won't retrieve the other! Thank you.

In 2001, the album was re-released with new artwork also on vinyl, and I decided to buy that version, with all the bonus tracks included. The quality is excellent; it's a shame that the CD excludes the third disc—what a stupid move to release it cut off.

On the CD I have, in the bonus tracks of CD number 2, there is the entire third disc of the original.

AAAhhhh, it seemed strange to me that they had distorted the work in its entirety; I just find it odd that the third disc was included in the bonus tracks. But not knowing the various CD prints, I imagine it may have been left out in the past due to space constraints.
