Arbouretum: Rites Of Uncovering
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Thanks to Debaser! A real gem: a kind of raw and extremely elongated roots-rock, with a subtle pathos that is never over the top.
Arcadium: Breathe Awhile
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
In the list of British bands from the '60s and '70s that shine like shooting stars in the progressive sky (Khan, Writing on The Wall, T2, etc.), they sit in the front row: the heaviest you can hear in the genre but with utterly ethereal melodic openings. "I'm on my way" is how Comus would sound if they were a rock band.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer: Tarkus
CD Audio I have it ★
The worst progressive album I have ever listened to. The suite is redundant and pompous yet simultaneously insignificant, the second side swings between absolute abomination and mediocrity. Horrible even by the not-so-excellent standards of ELP.

but at least the first side is prog, then you may or may not like it. The second is something else that is hard to classify, unless as "we don’t know how the hell to fill these remaining minutes and we just throw four pieces of crap in there." In any case, for me they managed to do worse.
  • You say that Pictures at an Exhibition is worse? Maybe, I only listened to that once (and that was enough for me), I was listening to Tarkus the other day and I felt totally messed with.

Well, without wanting to go and pick on that abomination of Love Beach, I find that a Karn Evil manages to make even Tarkus' suite seem light... I've never been able to listen to it all the way through in one go.

    Exaggerated.
Noir Désir: Tostaky
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The most beautiful rock album ever that isn't sung in English (or almost)?
Radio Birdman: Radios Appear
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
I too, earlier, struggling soul that I am, thought that perfection didn't exist. Then I listened to Radios Appear.

I bought it like 10 days ago, nice little discovery found late.

Nice record, yes! I, on the other hand, still have to buy it.
Scratch Acid: The Greatest Gift
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
A journey through the winding paths of a criminal asylum with sneering rapists hurling feces at each other.
The Stone Roses: The Stone Roses
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the best albums ever, without any distinction of genre.
