Oh no, wait, the conversation about Phil is quite different. Collins has always spoken highly of the old Genesis; his favorite album by the band is The Lamb, and that's also because Phil is the more open, versatile, and elastic musical mind of the Genesis group alongside Gabriel. He collaborated with Eno, Fripp, played Fusion, and was a session musician for a ton of different artists. He ventured into pop with a touch of soul-R&B, his great passion. Sure, until 1983, then he became "Lagnaman." Collins, however, was someone who always tried different things, in the past. As it stands now, even if he wanted to, he really wouldn't be able to do anything regarding Genesis anymore.

I don't question Philco's abilities, but I have some doubts about his interest in the music of Genesis.

Yet this is the only solo album by Wilson that I never revisit; there are some beautiful things on it, but I found it quite uneven, with something unlistenable like Raider II that I’ve never managed to listen to in full. The two subsequent albums are by far better in my opinion.

At first, I wasn't thrilled; as you rightly say, it’s discontinuous, difficult at first glance. I only consider Insurgentes inferior (I see it as the epilogue of Porcupine), but from that to the latest To the Bone, there's zero comparison, masterpieces all!
