20 years of Gaucho, Fagen and Becker still as fresh as ever!!
  • The works of Steely Dan are all worth a lot.
But this album disappointed me: the usual deadly groove, but the melodies? (crooked as they may be, but often irresistible up to that point).
The jazzy funk dominates unchallenged, without the catchy choruses, the meticulous harmonies, or the incredibly intricate yet singable developments.
I've listened to it about a dozen times: not a single passage, a verse, a harmonic progression has cemented itself in my head. When I hear it again, everything feels familiar, but as soon as I put the album away, it’s all forgotten.
For my tastes, that's not good. I mean, it's fine, but it deserves a seven at best, nothing more.

I fundamentally agree, but 3 stars seemed too few to me.....

His pianist, and I believe he felt the same, strongly thought it was his best album. I definitely need to delve into it more; it’s certainly a great concept album, finally a harsh critique of America (United States).
Steppenwolf: live

Classy USA-CND psychedelic hard rock in a live setting, a joyful summary of the early stunning works.

4 stars is just right. I love this band, their self-titled debut is one of my all-time favorite albums.

For the atmospheres and the overall style of the album, it’s clear how many pieces were written for Genesis. But the best is yet to come!

between revisited and revisited II, this stunning genesis files, slightly twisted arrangements, yet another act of love for the Genesis era.

Not a 5, but the level is high. It probably suffers from the first 3 masterpieces.

The umpteenth display of love from Steve Hackett for his past with Genesis.

Oh no, wait, the conversation about Phil is quite different. Collins has always spoken highly of the old Genesis; his favorite album by the band is The Lamb, and that's also because Phil is the more open, versatile, and elastic musical mind of the Genesis group alongside Gabriel. He collaborated with Eno, Fripp, played Fusion, and was a session musician for a ton of different artists. He ventured into pop with a touch of soul-R&B, his great passion. Sure, until 1983, then he became "Lagnaman." Collins, however, was someone who always tried different things, in the past. As it stands now, even if he wanted to, he really wouldn't be able to do anything regarding Genesis anymore.

I don't question Philco's abilities, but I have some doubts about his interest in the music of Genesis.
