"how is the moon there, how is it" I place it straight among the top 15 of the 70s

Indeed it's a great album. But Can have made very few mistakes with their albums, very few. Really nice ranking, anonymous, curious choice for the Morphine album, curious but not bad.

      No, it's actually ugly instead!

Dai Swimming Pool (or whatever it was called) was much worse. In my opinion, The Night is more than decent. Then, the fact that the three before are twenty-seven spans above is fine :)

Why is Money ugly?? I repeat what I wrote in the beginning, it's a matter of personal taste. So when it comes to personal taste, if you were madly in love with, I don’t know, the Spice Girls, I wouldn’t have anything to say.

Alright, tastes are tastes; one can try to make the person "redeem" themselves, but it would be pointless.

Tastes are tastes, but if someone goes crazy for Spais Gherls, I register the fact that “they don’t care about music and aren’t interested in it” and change the subject. All my friends, for example, listen to Gnag-Gnam Stail, but they’re still my friends :D Just don’t touch the subject of music with me, they know XD

De gustibus is fine if you tell me: I've never liked V.U. but I adore Can. Well then :)

Yes, indeed one should always have knowledge of what they’re talking about. This Money, on the other hand, just said it’s ugly without providing any justification and then disappeared... could it be a troll?

No no no, I guarantee it, he’s a cool guy and a great listener ;) He’s just a bit of a fan of Morphine, I mean the first three masterpieces. But he’s a good kid, everything I know about Jazz I learned from him.

The Can only made great albums, but Soon, in my opinion, is the one that's most ahead in terms of sounds (it's a tough competition even against Future Days). As for Morphine, I can say that I like them quite a bit and I chose this album because it's the one that stuck with me the most.

"i Can only made some great records." True, but let's say that between '69 and '74 the best ones came out, right? ;) Yes, I really like Morphine too; usually, the posthumous The Night, which is a great album in itself, is always overlooked in favor of the first three (which I agree are the best). That's why I was talking about a curious choice; still, it makes sense :) I really need to revisit Jar of Flies by AIC, yes. I'm very familiar only with Dirt and their self-titled album.

Yes, in fact I wanted to write about the period '69-'75 (I would also add Landed and Delay from '81)... as for AIC, I chose this because Stanley's voice combined with the lyrics is something truly haunting (even in the others, but this one even more so).

I take note of the suggestion about Jar of Flies; I'll give it a good listen :) But yes, Landed is really beautiful. Delay, however, is from 1968 :) (even though it was released much later)

yes yes I know it was published in '81 as a "kind" of collection of unpublished works

Sure, and it easily competes with their best.

"Thick as a Brick" has never resonated with me... yet I love prog and also "Stand Up" and "Aqualung"... :/

I find everything that is defined as "Prog" in there. Maybe it's a bit too long and could get tiring? For my part, sometimes I've found much shorter and less intricate compositions that bored me after a minute of listening.

I don't really know what to tell you, I don't think it has to do with the length, since I can listen to things like bitches brew, earth 2 or third without any issues... I guess there just isn't any feeling.

However, keep in mind that the top ten positions are the ones I listen to fairly frequently... after that, it becomes difficult to rank them; they all stand on the same level more or less.

Well, Maxinquaye above Hendrix... For the rest, a really interesting ranking.
