Non ho messo Marillion,IQ,Pendragon,Pallas perchè sono gruppi di vecchia data.

Very nice, do you also appreciate Frost* and Demians?

I don't share the opinion on Anglagard being so low and Spock's being so high; Beardfish is good, and I'm glad you know Liquid Scarlet. Excuse me for saying this, but I wouldn’t consider Landberk among the current bands unless they’ve released something new recently (as Anglagard have).

It's true that Landberk wouldn't fit among the current groups, just like Oceansize, who unfortunately have disbanded. Anglagard is placed so low because I prefer bands where the sung parts are more present—it's just personal taste; however, I acknowledge their greatness and consider the album Hybris a masterpiece. @progrock, I'm not familiar with Frost* and Demians; I gave them a listen on YouTube, and they are interesting. To express a judgment on them, I would need to listen to a few albums.

neo-prog horrifies me like the worst of the worst :( but it's a matter of taste, and I tend to be retro.

Neo-prog is just a stream of a great progressive river that has given birth to dozens of excellent bands. I really urge you not to hold this prejudice and to explore further; you will surely be surprised.

Hello there, by neoprog I mean that of the bands born from the '80s onwards, I hope I used the right term :) I love prog from '69 to the mid-'70s.

Hi, I agree with urlicht, maybe you listened to the wrong groups.

Neo-prog originated in the '80s (Marillion, IQ, Pendragon...) and continued in the '90s in England (Citizen Cain, Arena...) with influences from Poland, the Netherlands, and some from South America. But there is a huge movement with a thousand facets active in Scandinavia, the United States, Italy, France and Belgium, Hungary, even Japan and Armenia, in Bahrain... in short, a melting pot of ideas, creativity, and energy that does not aim for commercial success, but simply for the pleasure of creating quality music. The fact that there is a common thread of "progressive" schemes, which for some is "regressive" just because the roots are from the '70s, well, does music exist without roots?
