I think very, very well of you, keep going like this and you'll do great.

Caravan, Soft Machine, Comus, and Jethro Tull (the first names that come to mind) must not be missing from a ranking like this. Well done for including Hight Tide and Colosseum even though Valentine Suite is from '69... Look how picky I am XD

Since I’m blind… no, sorry, since I’m getting old, all this stuff feels like it’s from the 70s (even though some of it came out a bit earlier (and anyway Valentyne Suite was finished on December 30, 1969, at 6:30 PM…)), because I was listening to this stuff back in the 70s, with all those beautiful vinyl records, the Lesa turntable and - for those who could afford it - the Technics platter, Sansui amplifier, and speakers… no, no speakers that cost too much: it was headphones (Koss) or nothing.
But you’re right about Soft Machine: the Jethro - whom I idolize - were a mix of folk, blues, prog... Caravan were inferior to Hatfield and Comus were too underground. Those I included are also… a ranking of the heart. Imagine that I memorized "dancing with the Moonlight Knight" in 1974 - or thereabouts - and I still remember it to this day!

Look, I was joking about the Colosseum XD... For my personal taste, Caravan is superior to Hatfield and the North, but we're still talking about 2 great prog bands, so it's understandable that you might prefer the latter.
