Look, it's a nice ranking; there are many people I like as well. I want to point out some notable omissions; maybe you can explain to me why you left them out. Scorsese, Kubrick, Leone, Lynch, Bergman, Kurosawa. However, I like the ranking; I don't know some of them, I definitely wouldn't have included Lucas, but I'm in agreement on several names.

Thank you! When the ideograms are removed from Kurosawa's profile, I'll add him. I've only seen a couple of great films by Bergman, so I can't say I know him well. However, I discovered that I like him for some cutting critiques he made about Antonioni. Lynch, for me, is pretentious and a bit overrated. Leone feels a bit long-winded to me; he's not among my favorites. Scorsese and Kubrick? It's too obvious to include them; they're inflated around here. Lucas is a youthful diversion, and I don't mind including him in a ranking. Unlike some other users (whom you might know and admire), I don't pretend to be more than I am, and I don't consider myself a great expert. Great Russian directors all give me hives, for example. What's wrong with saying it? I'm proud of that; it's not ignorance. It's taste. For me, GOOD taste.

  Well, you’re not the only one who doesn’t consider yourself a great expert, don't worry. Rankings are personal, and so everyone includes what they like, that’s obvious. If Tarkovsky (whom I adore, for example) gives you hives, that’s not a problem for me, even if I won’t agree, but that’s just how it is ;) Lynch pretentious? Sometimes, certainly (just look at "Fire Walk with Me"). However, I don't understand the discourse about the inflation of Scorsese and Kubrick? If you like them, what do you care if they’re overexposed (if you don’t like them, that’s a different story). Anyway, I affirm again that there are many names in the rankings that I appreciate (I even include Kurosawa).

it was a sweetened and different way to say that I happily fell asleep during 2001: A Space Odyssey and that Gangs of New York struck me as a clumsy and thick piece of junk. Those are the last 2 films I've seen from those 2, and I was left feeling a bit down about it. The last impression is the one that counts :) I’ll keep them on hold for a while, then maybe I'll reconsider.

  Well, judging Scorsese by "Gangs of New York" is a bit crazy :). You need to dive into "Mean Streets," "Taxi Driver," "Raging Bull," or even "Goodfellas." I saw you included people like Coppola, Schlesinger, Cimino; key names of "New Hollywood," so you shouldn't have any issues with Scorsese (of course, Gangs is nothing special; rewatching it had a lousy effect on me). 2001 is my favorite movie, but you're not the first one to fall asleep during it, so I forgive you :) But Kubrick changed genres once per film, so you’ll find something you like eventually ;)

I have seen all the Scorsese ones, from Kubrick I'm missing The Killing.

Ah, just because Gangs made you shit on it, you're not including Scorsese? Not that you have to include him for sure, but at this point you need to tell me what you think of Scorsese in general. Do you like him? Don't you like him? Do you like him at times? :D
Very raw that Kubrick film, interesting, but very raw.

Of course I liked those movies, very much actually. But I wouldn’t watch them again. A bit like with Led Zeppelin. Amazing, but I haven’t listened to them in 15 years. I prefer something fresher and less great. Let’s say it’s a ranking of what resonates with me now.
