Beautiful and (almost) complete. I would add for now The xx and Mogwai.

Cigarettes after Sex is much higher for me (for me, that's the album of the year alongside Chelsea Wolfe).

You read my mind; I was just adding them. Thanks for stopping by. It's hard to make a correct ranking; the more you correct it, the more it feels wrong.
Maybe it's better to say a list of preferences.

So much different stuff and some choices like Brand New and Beach Fossils are quite high for you too. I’ll take inspiration for a few names; a good chunk of these I’ve listened to as well.

The Nationals need to get them back; I heard a couple of noteworthy tracks.

Excellent summary of the year. Great job Johnny B. (very) Good(e)! I'm taking notes. I've heard very little compared to your far-sighted top. For me, Magnetic Fields, Dream Syndicate, and Fleet Foxes are good.

An extraordinary year for all tastes. I can't wait for Quicksand to hit the stage again after 22 years, and Electric Wizard. Flaming Lips - Ty Segall - Elbow - Julian Cope - Animal Collective - Sun Kill Moon - Xiu Xiu - Feelies - Depeche Mode - Spoon - Jesus & Mary Chain - Phish - Guided By Voices - New Pornographers - Lanegan - Afghan Whigs - At The Drive In - Mac Demarco - Elf Power - P. Weller - Liars - Charlatans - Beck - D. Auberbach - J. Tweedy - Nine Inch Nails - Living Colour. Those I haven't listened to yet.

Without forgetting Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bats, Half Japanese, and Foo Fighters. I went to see all the releases this year and there were many, too many to mention them all.

But you know that Eyelids - at first listen it seemed like nonsense to me and instead, I don't know, I'm listening to it again now and I'm really enjoying it. I discovered them from your ranking. I don't know them at all. Tell me more.

I came across the review of @[Pinhead]. Everything is clear now. I had also picked up on the various references in the sound... the Flying Nun... they are truly legends as far as I'm concerned. Some labels are a guarantee, and I dive into listening to everything they release. My favorite of all: Thrill Jockey. There isn't a single release of theirs that disappoints me. They push heavily on the experimental side, but even in these cases, the quality is always high.

The review of Pinhead was the catalyst. That’s how I discovered them, and then the fact that notable names got interested in them, like Peter Buck, did the rest. I like them because, despite having a somewhat dated sound, they manage to be fresh and carefree without too many frills, true artisans of pop rock.

When I hear Flying Nun or Dunedin Sound, I dive right in.

Dunedin Sound, on the other hand, never heard of it.

But no! Dunedin Sound is the genre! The New Zealand wave of various Verlaines, Chills, Clean, Dead C, Bats... Clearly closely connected to Flying Nun.

Stay sharp, Johnny! Now I know where to check for 2017. I even peeked a bit into your collection, really great shelves! Among the many, a shout-out to my beloved T.A.C.
    Hula Johnny!

The one from Quicksand surprised me. I never expected a great album after such a long time since they last played together (even though they had already started doing live shows again for a while) and instead...

Same thing, the more I listen, the higher it climbs in my personal ranking. Thank you for stopping by. I really like the things you propose.

Nice ranking. Some of them I don’t know, but given the similarities with my listening habits, I feel I should give them a listen. I can’t stop listening to Quicksand.

Your music is great too, and you introduced me to Pile and Ufomammut. I bought the latest Pile album, and I think I’ll buy more.

Damn... you gave me the fear of being afflicted with rampant Alzheimer's. I'm going to check that these Pile aren't a creation of a moment of recklessness... no, okay. I don't really know them :-)

Forgive me, I met the Pile through Kloo. Sorry, and then the Ufomammut are more than enough.

So let's inform ourselves about these Pile. The group that keeps you warm but light. Haha. What a nonsense.
