The Church -Priest = Aura
Another great record composed in 1992 by The Church; it’s the seven minutes of "Aura" that kick off an album rich in rarefied atmospheres, with long and enveloping songs as the Australians have accustomed us to, especially from this work onwards. Masterful are the intertwining of the two guitars of Peter and Marty, which give the tracks those classic instrumental "fugues": listening to "Ripple" and its dreamy and commanding finale perfectly captures the essence of a superb album...FILM... more
J.K. Rowling
I grew up with Harry Potter! But the films from the 5th one onwards really suck. more
Viggo Mortensen
Aragon! more
Nina Zilli
Objectively speaking, an excellent interpreter (and a real stunner). She functions much less effectively as a composer, and this flaw is weighing her down in the long run. Nice debut (6.5), satisfactory second album (5/6), and a clumsy and heavy Frasi&Fumo (5). EDIT: she even tried to return to urban via trap (Modern Art) but it went poorly again (5). more
Malika Ayane
Elegant interpreter, skilled composer, and a distinctive voice. She and Nina Zilli (who, however, doesn't have good tracks like those of Malika) are the best that today's Italian mainstream can offer. Now that she's no longer with Cremonini, are things going better for you as well? more
Mel Gibson
A decent director (aside from his passion for Jesus piglet) and a good actor, perhaps a bit overrated. But lethal weapon, who could forget that! more
Gorillaz -Demon Days
An interesting experiment, that of Gorillaz. I prefer their debut, but this remains an excellent album with its variety and its medley of genres fused together. more
Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo, Massimo Venier
Aside from Wind's bullshit and the latest movies, they are and will remain my favorite comedians, damn it! more
Richard Gere
Well, typical actor from those crummy movies, even though he’s done a couple of good films (Schegge di paura, Rapsodia in agosto, or American Gigolò) that save him from being completely panned. more
Patti Smith
people have the power!!! more
Patti Smith
Hearing her sing often gives me an erection (and I'm not joking...) more
Manowar
The first four albums are amazing. Ridiculous from '87 onwards, because they became overly self-celebratory. But among the many tragicomic anthems to metal in their more recent history, there are two rays of light that go by the names of "The Triumph of Steel" and "Gods of War..." more
Roberto Vecchioni -Samarcanda
Practically perfect. From the folkloric and galloping title track (supported by the masterful violin parts of Angelo Branduardi), to the theatrical "L'ultimo spettacolo" (which contains one of the most beautiful lyrical passages of Italian singer-songwriter music). An album divided between rock, folk, and psychedelia, therefore quite polished from a musical standpoint, which was very avant-garde for those times, given the sparse arrangements proposed during that period by some colleagues of the "professore." more
Vinicio Capossela -Nel niente sotto il sole
An album that offered "so much" at the time of its release. CD+DVD at the price of a single format. And the video is not one of those useless promotional ones: nearly three hours of material, including the full concert, already savored in AUDIO format, showcasing a Vinicio in top form who is able to give his songs an even more convincing rendition. A live performance to be passed down through the ages, featuring a stunning "Brucia Troia," complete with scream vocals, a fur coat, and bull horns! more
Luciano Ligabue
If it slips out, don’t hold it back. more
Milli Vanilli
the big con artist was the producer Frank Farian; they simply lent themselves to the colossal scam... an example of how image has become fundamental in music... more
Franco Battiato
The Mesolithic period is the best.
Golden years, ruined by a strong change death-doom metal norvegese.
His new single, Quando ero Giooig [YTP] is giving hope to his fandom after the disastrous meeting in Verdi a few years ago, in 1889. The sadistic producer, in fact, gave a twist to his sound, and the singles "have killed Bin Laden" and "like a Portugal in a dirty cum robe" flopped in the UK singles chart of the time.
