I had never listened to any of his solo work, but I had always looked favorably on this singer-songwriter. I listened to this album more out of curiosity than anything else, and I was very positively impressed, to the point that I consider it one of the best albums of more or less recent Italian singer-songwriter music that I have listened to lately. Some tracks made me think of the best episodes of Perturbazione ('Ha perso la città', 'Facciamo finta', 'Una mano sugli occhi'), while others inevitably refer back to the Italian singer-songwriter tradition and fundamental authors like De Gregori (I think of 'Vince chi molla'), but in reality, it all primarily comes from his own creativity, from 'Una somma di piccole cose' to 'Le cose non si mettono bene', 'Le chiavi di casa', and it's a sign of an artistic maturity that I think is now widely recognized. more
I didn't know this Norwegian band until I listened to this record here, 'Industrial Silence', released in 2000 via Virgin Records and produced by a big name like John Agnello. It's impossible not to think of Nick Cave while listening, due to the similarities in the vocal tone of frontman Sivert Hoyem with that of the Australian songwriter. However, their music doesn't hold the same fury as the Bad Seeds or bands like Gallon Drunk or Grinderman; rather, it has a different approach. There are suburban twilight atmospheres worthy of Afghan Whigs and a certain strain of American music from the seventies (I also think of the great Ry Cooder) here updated according to more modern aesthetic and musical standards. Really beautiful, a big surprise as far as I'm concerned. It gains points with every listen. more

The latest EP by The Strokes was released by the independent label founded and owned by Julian Casablancas (Cult Records). It features three unreleased tracks, 'Drag Queen', 'Oblivius', and 'Threat of Joy', as well as a remix of 'Oblivius' done by the band’s drummer, Fabrizio Moretti. This marks the return of one of the most acclaimed yet simultaneously criticized bands of the past fifteen years, and personally, despite appreciating their early work, I never expected much from them. The three tracks are, all in all, listenable, and the EP as a whole is pleasant, picking up sounds that align with what the band has offered in their recent works and that usual, typically 'ruffiano' aftertaste that these New Yorkers know how to serve up well. more
A romantic comedy that is at least somewhat original, directed by David Kloepp (screenwriter of 'Jurassic Park', 'Carlito's Way', and 'Mission Impossible', as well as the deadly and rightly denigrated 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'). A cynical dentist, angry with the world and played by Ricky Gervais, gains the ability to see and interact with the dead and what can be called the ghosts of various souls in limbo after complications from a mundane routine procedure. This experience will change his life, leading him to rediscover love and the joy of living. Happy ending. Applause. Curtain. more
A romantic comedy revolving around the protagonist Steve Carell in one of his typical roles, that of the somewhat clumsy middle-aged man who this time gets dumped by his wife (Julianne Moore) after twenty-five years of marriage. This will force him, under the guidance of a Latin lover played by one of the hottest actors of the moment, Ryan Gosling, to get back in the game. The cast, which for a film that isn’t exactly a blockbuster, can be defined as 'stellar', also features Emma Stone and includes supporting roles from talented actors like Marisa Tomei and Kevin Bacon. It may or may not appeal to you; I would call it a successful film, of course, with a predictable happy ending that perhaps could have been delivered in a better and slightly more spectacular way. more
Taken from the famous novel by Ira Levin and already brought to the big screen by Bryan Forbes in 1975, starring Nicole Kidman and featuring the talented Christopher Walken, the film tells the story of life in the town of Stepford, Connecticut, where, immersed in an atmosphere ideally typical of the 1950s USA, the women who live there could be described as the prototype of the perfect housewife of that era. Obviously, behind this apparent perfection lies a grotesque truth, curated by Frank Oz as a black comedy and based on a story that can be considered a classic in its own right, regarding a certain type of satirical thriller with sci-fi elements. Objectively: much better could have been done. more

I had to listen to Trout Mask Replica at least 10 times (minimum), it’s a brilliant masterpiece, even though I can’t consider it the best album ever as that crazy guy Scaruffi would say (@[fuggitivo] don’t take it personally XD. Joking aside, what brilliant artists, what technique they had, and what a genius and crazy composer Don Van Vliet was. more
One of the most Dadaist works ever created by man can be both art and a photonic shit, but the Captain's intent is to establish a new musical conception, and he does so by drawing from primordial blues. Simply genius!! more
Great personality, multiple talents, a splendid drummer, the first true Italian frontman, the voice may not be the best, however, what matters is the "Attitude"! more
The album of ultimate consecration that kicked off an incredible series of records... Memorable "Grey Diamond Desert," exceptional the title track and then "Direction Of The Sun," "She Knows," "Ivy"... What else to add?? (4.5) more
No longer BMS but simply Banco, and it is in this light that the album should be listened to. The most successful of the group's pop albums, the first side offers a more enjoyable track than the other, while on the second side there's the beautiful "allons enfants." more
