Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band

I had to listen to Trout Mask Replica at least 10 times (minimum), it’s a brilliant masterpiece, even though I can’t consider it the best album ever as that crazy guy Scaruffi would say (@[fuggitivo] don’t take it personally XD. Joking aside, what brilliant artists, what technique they had, and what a genius and crazy composer Don Van Vliet was.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band was the musical vehicle of Don Van Vliet (aka Captain Beefheart), an American singer and multi-instrumentalist also known as a painter. The group is best known for radical, blues-rooted experimentation, with Trout Mask Replica (1969) frequently cited as a landmark. Van Vliet later retired from recording and devoted himself to painting.
