A TRUE MASTERPIECE OF THE GENESIS DISCOGRAPHY, although I still prefer the magical "Foxtrot" by a hair, it’s more appropriate to consider this as a separate album in the Genesis discography due to its uniquely developed and particular concepts. more

A thinker, I have never fully shared his ideas, as he promoted the violent rebellion of the proletariat and his ideas entailed the abolition of private property (which, in my view, is an inalienable right of man). The problem is not him, nor his ideas, but those who have "sought" to follow his ideas, imposing "communist" regimes (which are certainly not communist!) and failing to realize the utopia so dreamt of by the German. Still, the 4 is appropriate, as he was one of the most important thinkers of the second half of the 19th century. more

In my opinion (a bold theory), he was resentful of their wealth and probably unable to accept that perhaps in the past the Jewish culture of which he was a part had "rejected" him. When I discovered that there was this enormous vinyl at my grandparents' house, I was determined to put it on the turntable at all costs...too bad the turntable was broken, so I couldn't enjoy this immense masterpiece of Mike in its multiple 48 minutes once again. It's incredible how, at not yet 20 years old, with a base of just 3-4 notes (made famous thanks to the movie The Exorcist), he managed to create this immense suite! Referring to the debut, given that the debasio presents difficulties in collecting it. more

The most experimental of the fab four, here there are many musical innovations such as the very first echoes of heavy metal (helter skelter), pop episodes that recall their early days (back in the u.s.s.r, obladi oblada, I'm so tired), and a 100% noise and nonsense track that is revolution 9, a disturbing succession of reverse sounds and bizarre noises.
It's not perfect (there are skippable songs, like obladi...) but that's part of the charm of this semi-masterpiece double album.
