Incredible band, they have it all: devastating sounds, impressive stage presence, and lyrics that are sometimes playful, other times deep and sophisticated. Their live show is an experience not to be missed at least once! For the lyrics, which due to the use of German are not immediately understandable, I refer you to Metal Germania:

I have always supported the validity of the third album by the Bostonian Pixies, despite its many detractors. It’s not easy for the Pixies to replicate the two prodigious previous albums. The repertoire of "Bossanova" is less frenetic, more controlled; but still teetering on the edge of absolute excellence. I only need to mention the opening "Cecilia Ann" and its instrumental Surf-Rock, the subsequent "Rock Music" (what a title!!) so loud and schizoid in the sung parts, "Velouria" with that vocal interplay and Kim’s whispers that drive me insane. A wonderful album and there are still eleven tracks left to go. Five stars, no doubt about it...THE HAPPENING... more

Fundamental, seminal, genius of cosmic spaces, call it what you want, but I’ve listened to Mirage, Irrlicht, and more, and I found them to have a unique monotony; in Mirage there isn’t a single variation. For me, this is the classic example of music that is very much a product of its time. In the seventies, it was cutting-edge regardless of its listenability or not, but now that these musical textures can be created with a cheap PC, all that remains of that music is its historical value… which, indeed, is remarkable. more
A fantastic album, my favorite from the English band. Ken Hensley shines, great songwriting and keyboards, as well as being a superb second guitar. A Box inspired on guitar and a Paul Newton on bass in great form. Byron keeps getting better with each album, gaining confidence and charisma. An album that has nothing to envy from the giants of the era, from Master of Reality to Fireball... more
