Fundamental, seminal, genius of cosmic spaces, call it what you want, but I’ve listened to Mirage, Irrlicht, and more, and I found them to have a unique monotony; in Mirage there isn’t a single variation. For me, this is the classic example of music that is very much a product of its time. In the seventies, it was cutting-edge regardless of its listenability or not, but now that these musical textures can be created with a cheap PC, all that remains of that music is its historical value… which, indeed, is remarkable.
