When I listen to Manu Chao, I feel an intense desire to reinstate slavery for all non-white people, to destroy every kind of local culture with strategically placed bombs and replace everything with McDonald's, to make the leader of the Lefebvrian movement an absolute dictator, to set fire to all the hippies, to subjugate women, and to massacre gays, bloggers, and dissidents. Then I stop listening, and I realize it's all a load of crap. Except for the part about bloggers. They deserve death... more
Barret era = 5... Post-Barret (up to "More") = 3... Dark Side Of The Moon/Wish You Were Here = 2... from there on = unclassified. Talk about a downward career. more
Music of always excellent level, although sometimes a bit too much in the Battistian style, and equally good lyrics. more
A couple of memorable albums (Abraxas, Santana), the rest comfortably forgettable. more
Absolutely horrendous. Even live they disgusted me, but at the time I was very young and wouldn’t admit it, what a disappointment. PS: and I also find Gorgoroth disgusting, uncompromising death metal, etc... more
@macaco: those are the Beatles ;) Anyway, they are a great band but somewhat overrated, mainly by those who are still at the dawn of their musical exploration; however, surely no one like them has managed to reach such a large audience while making "experimental" music. more
Very alternative and very good! more
Evolved metal more
He doesn't measure up to Hendrix, Page, Gilmour, Fripp, Clapton, Iommi, Blackmore, Holdsworth, Metheny in terms of technique and compositional genius... but he's still a good guitarist. more
Absolutely fantastic. Of course, the previous definitions must have been given by the usual metal extremists who think that if you play Death or Black, you must fit into their precise parameters, otherwise you’re garbage. Well then, I prefer this 'garbage' over the tough and raw Gorgoroth or other ball-busting Satanists with their faces painted like crap. Always labeling music into genres, subgenres, and various nonsense.. Please.. more
Someone who always dances the tango... punchline!!! more
Just watching in succession "Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion" and "The Working Class Goes to Heaven" is enough to understand that Gian Maria Volontè is one of the greatest actors of all time, not to mention other masterful performances like L'Indio in "For a Few Dollars More" and the president in "Todo Modo." more
Gian Maria Volontè is probably the greatest Italian actor of all time (for me, he's on par with Mastroianni). An exceptional shape-shifter, an undeniably colossal actor. more
Overrated and with sh*tty covers. more
I have always liked them a lot. Then Nina Persson is a captivating young woman... more
Compare or not compare, this man knows what he's doing. more
A charming crazy person. more
Although not exceptional, it offers a songwriter repertoire that is definitely noteworthy, with influences from Battisti that are far from self-referential. more
The band? I don't know. The actor? A true giant. "The people are minors, the city is sick; it is up to others to heal and educate, while it is our duty to repress! Repression is our vaccine! Repression is civilization!". more
Hearing her voice while the wind blows in your face... more
