He became white due to an illness (vitiligo) that had ruined him aesthetically... my aunt is white and it shows a lot; just imagine it on a Black person... so before calling someone a racist, get informed... as an artist, I have nothing to say; I'm not a fan at all, but he had a beautiful voice, knew how to dance masterfully, and wrote timeless hits... you can't not give 5.
