Among the (not many) unattractive Japanese women - and I mean really unattractive - who live in Honshu and its surroundings, Lennon went and picked one of those. An odious figure in show business, a frequent visitor to salons, and a woman-everywhere even in contexts that don't suit her at all, she has carved out an undeserved place in history. A pitiful singer, off-key and unbearable, she has even managed to overshadow - in the West - Japanese artists far more talented than she is.
