It's hard for me to evaluate him. He has released six of the most unique albums in Italy in less than a decade and then left like someone at a party who gets bored and leaves without even saying goodbye. This singer, in his own way, is unclassifiable, and I have no intention of labeling him like a supermarket product (but I'm forced to give a rating, so...) more
The album that marks, at least for me, the end of Lucio's golden era. This and the previous "1983" are two perfect dividing lines between the "old" Dalla (71-81) and the "new" Dalla (86-09). Malavasi, starting from this point onward, will increasingly operate in the electronic realm, bringing a refined tecno-pop that is in step with the times but not always palatable to everyone and, to be honest, it doesn’t sweep me off my feet either. I still remain firmly attached to Dalla 71-81, but even this one remains an excellent album. Lyrics that are still fully Dalla's, with standouts like "Toro," "Aquila," "Washington," and the title track. Between 4 and 4.5. more
The Poohffi you don't expect... more
Huge gap between him and many of his peers. Good composer but above all a great lyricist, perhaps the best currently in Italy. more
Some nice pieces, but for the rest, a lot of tackiness and self-celebration. If it weren't for that clownish costume nonsense, they would all be out picking melons... more
I never understood all this success, even among the connoisseurs. They didn't invent anything, and Bohemian Rhapsody is an experiment that was heard at least a decade prior. If it weren't for Mercury, nobody would pay them any attention. more
you made me rush to listen to "I’ve Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You"
this is what a good critic should do, entice people. and you succeeded, even though with me you're preaching to the choir because I love Bob Dylan - let’s extract the time and the duets with the unbearably boring Joan Baez, recently performed in my city. (double GULP!...) more
It stinks. Better the emissions of bovine vomit than just 5 minutes of those shitty whines. more
Someone explain to me why it is in the "artists" section. more
It's not bad in itself, but it really suffers from some filler tracks thrown in just to pad it out (You never come back, Enough is enough, one with a rather banal text and the other fairly useless overall). However, there are some gems (Air, Well of Wishes, Together, It's Me) and the arrangements work perfectly. 3.5, I’ll see later whether to give it 3 stars or 4 stars (in the end I went for 4, I’d say that’s more accurate). more
In my head the calluses
That I should grate
I’d like to be GG Allin
I would have something to do more
I believe that Queen are perfect. more
We are at madness: a text that couldn't be more packed with metaphors and imagery, and an arrangement that hits the ears like a flashlight pointed at the eyes. Let's also count Lucio's falsetto, which can very well be a mockery of all of us. more
And I experienced this personally as well. I understood what the lyrics meant while I was being left for the umpteenth time; that obsession with being liked is so pointless, that phrase is damnably summarizing of the album and perhaps of my love life. more
The hardest piece to digest. I still haven't managed to understand the lyrics, so filled with imagery they are. But its arrangement is truly successful. more
The arrangement is the most original ever recorded throughout Lucio's career. It would be too easy to label the lyrics as romantic, since it talks about two people who keep themselves distant from others with their breath changing according to the trends (or at least that's what I see). more
It might just be me, but I don't fully understand it. Or rather, I've experienced it less than the others. Nonetheless, it remains a musically brilliant piece with lyrics that transport me in front of a figure that is both abstract and concrete. more
A ride that breaks all possible walls. And a text on the edge of a flashback (university). more
I personally experienced this. She, who loves philosophy and has a body to die for, and on the other side, me, the loser, not much into reading. But in the end, liking each other is so pointless. more
I know that to many this "song" doesn't mean much, but the fact remains that it's musically catchy. And anyway, I really like it a lot. more
