Red Hot Chili Peppers
Bah, I don't like their albums up until Californication. They were a great band in the 80s and for part of the 90s, but for the last 10 years, they've been going downhill. Flea is a good bassist, nothing special, of course, but I don’t mind his style. Better than others... more
The Smiths
Hatful of Hollow, The Queen is Dead, The Smiths, Meat is Murder, Strangeways Here We Come, Louder Than Bombs...put any of these albums or compilations in the stereo...the rest is just talk. more
The Smiths
Great pop-rock band from the '80s with at least two fantastic albums to their credit (the self-titled one and The Queen Is Dead). A timeless band without too many pretensions, skilled composers of great singles. more
Kim Wilde
Voice, beauty, elegance, and class, with a poignant note in her voice that made her unique in the eighties, even more so today, when 30 years later her musical beauty remains unchanged; always appreciated in Europe and (almost) never in Italy. more

40 years ago, she was the most appreciated trans person frequenting the recording studios: admirable in her own works and those of others...uncontrollable in the adjacent restrooms! more

Just for having written Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea will always get my 5. more

Alright, everyone, but Kill 'Em All was as important as a ejaculation for making a child. No bullshit. more

I seriously wonder how people can give less than 5. We're talking about one of the most important and fundamental figures in the history of rock and its surroundings. more
Brian Eno
He produced the following albums (or at least collaborated on defining the sound): The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (Genesis), Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard (Robert Wyatt), David Bowie's Berlin Trilogy, all the U2 albums from 1984 to the present, Us (Peter Gabriel), and finally Surprise (Paul Simon). He boasts numerous splendid projects both solo and otherwise, especially "Before And After The Science" from 1977. I think that’s enough for a solid 5 and probably even a little too little. more
The Adverts
Among the best English punk77 bands, if not the best. more
Metallica
I have always found them enormously overrated, both with Cliff Burton and without: instrumentally null, and let's not even talk about the lyrics. I won't bring up the various projects from recent years (like the one with Lou Reed) to avoid getting too lengthy. more

I think I've played the title track to death from listening to it so much. more

Metallica -Death Magnetic
The best piece in the lot is "All Nightmare Long"; in general, the songs are beautifully thrashy and good without pretensions. more
Metallica -Kill 'em all
A bangin' debut (and with a bass solo)! more
Metallica -Metallica
Already some songs lack metal, but it's still a great album: my favorites are "Wherever I May Roam" and "My Friend Of Misery." more
