Sorry. But these, whatever you want to say, are one of the greatest miracles of Italian music and, since there are not many, sooner or later I will put up a stellar review. A dream, it’s all an unsettling dream, an intimate reflection on death, supernatural and otherwise. The genre is something that, after all, will forever remain my (who knows why) forbidden dream. more
Ulver -Kveldssanger
I'm frightened by how clean and sublime all of this is. I used to play it in a duo with a friend and, I swear to you, I think we’re the only two idiots playing this stuff, sometimes even in front of an audience and in unimaginable situations. I can't give my best to an album that, all things considered, isn’t true badass folk, isn’t guitar repertoire and doesn’t get close to the exploitation of timbre; it has a bit of a sparse and impoverished musical writing, yet there’s a certain something of doom, there's the groove. more

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that. more
Paolo Sorrentino
There are many directors who make films, for better or worse. But few directors are capable of making cinema. Sorrentino makes cinema... beautiful or ugly, it doesn't matter. more

Very fragrant cool hole. And in this case, full of exotic aromas and scents. Not to be missed. more
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
I wrote some time ago, when I was still a promising writer, or maybe not, anyway... we are free. Here’s what I wrote:
"Dave Brubeck is a very fragrant hole of cool.
And I am a goldiardo almost always
silent." more

Franco Battiato -La Voce del Padrone
A sell-out but conscious. By further synthesizing pop arrangements (while also including a choir of madrigalists), Battiato constructs perfect hit singles. Like Brian Eno ten years earlier, he acts homeopathically with cut and paste, creating "intelligent" pop tracks as antidotes to the prevailing stupidity. The meditative aspect is preserved with Gli Uccelli and Segnali di Vita. more
Franco Battiato -Come un Cammello in una Grondaia
After Fisiognomica, it was inevitable to turn to orchestral music, abandoning all pop embellishments. And while the B-side is a rather dispensable collection of lieder, the A-side, with tracks like L'ombra della Luce (an extraordinary prayer in music) and Le sacre sinfonie del tempo, inaugurates his most mystical period, culminating in the extraordinary Concerto di Baghdad. Much more “earthly,” Povera Patria is a bitter invective against the moral decay of Italy (and it won't be the only one). more

Curved Air -Air conditioning
A noteworthy debut (with one of the first picture discs) from the English group featuring a new formula for progressive rock with original harmonic solutions (the mysterious Situations or Blind Man reminiscent of White Bird by It's a Beautiful Day) and unprecedented arrangements (see the mix of violin and wah-wah guitar in It Happened Today and Stretch). The instrumental Vivaldi is a classical reinterpretation in the style of the Nice, culminating in a series of dissonances and futuristic effects. more
