Beautiful, with the usual magical atmosphere found in the early albums of Led Zeppelin, although in my opinion it is inferior to the next one! more
Nice, let's say less impactful compared to Painkiller. Definitely one of the iconic albums of 80s heavy metal! more
Great album: sparkling, energetic, psychedelic, and above all historical. Definitely among the pillars of cross-over, one of the CDs that has shaped the sound of this genre! more
The incubus in this album approach a rock often contaminated by post-grunge and typical melodies of American rock. The result is excellent, but not comparable to the previous records! more
History of power and metal. A great classic, with songs that many power bands would kill to write, talking about "I Want Out" or "Rise and Fall" (but we could also add the long title track), songs that can appeal even to those who are not fans of the genre. In short, an essential classic! more
Rougher than its successor, yet this too is a great masterpiece that has influenced dozens and dozens of bands! more
Genius, crazy, masterpiece! An album that surprised me a lot: metal-jazz-grind-blackmetal-fusion, in a blend that works perfectly. A must-listen multiple times. more
A very experimental album; we can no longer talk about black metal, although here and there some traces of it remain. A beautiful album as usual, perhaps lacking the atmosphere of the previous ones, but the genius (that extra something that distinguishes the Emperor from the rest of the black crowd) is still there! more
What a delight this album is! I love it! Chaotic, barbaric compositions that seem to testify to a barbarian horde destroying everything in its path. Some passages are hair-raising. Symphonic, extreme, theatrical! more
Not as good as the previous work (Enthrone...), but many tracks are really great. With this album, Dimmu Borgir enhance their symphonic side, and the aggression decreases, but not entirely! more
When it was released, this album was truly ahead of everyone and definitely revolutionized the extreme scene! In fact, many clone bands were born thanks to this album. Currently, this sound is inflated, yet the original is always better! more
Mike Patton + Dillinger Escape Plan. No need to add anything else! more
Technically very valid and unique for the genre they propose (thrash). Truly a great album, absolutely not inferior to the recognized masterpieces of the genre (Metallica, Slayer, etc.). more
One of Bowie's masterpieces, perfect in both the songs and the instrumentals! more
Masterpiece with an incredible atmosphere: minimal, dark, mysterious, one of the highest peaks of the genre. An album whose depth has rarely been matched by other black metal bands! more
An engaging and intense album in many of its parts, as only this genre can be! more
The masterpiece of Carcass! A sprinkle of grind and on top of that add a death with a thousand tempo changes. Unfortunately, this description cannot convey the beauty of this album in the slightest! A colossus of extreme metal! more
Negrophuture!!! more
Nice! Not the masterpiece that everyone claims it to be (that’s Nightfall), but certainly an original album made by a band that said something new in metal and moved away from the worn-out clichés of power. more
I was a bit disappointed by the album (compared to their very high standards), especially in the more intense tracks that feel out of place. Even the final "violence," despite being beautiful and lasting 10 minutes, gets a bit tedious in the fast parts. Yet, the rest is always filled with great class and moving melodies; however, the best song is the title track, sung by a female voice that evokes Portishead. 3.5 rounded up to 4. more
