"Mama" and "Home by the Sea" (the first part, the second is a huge "meh") are two pretty pop songs (fine, beautiful) and Silver Rainbow is nice too. The rest is to be thrown away. All the other tracks not only suck but are also so insubstantial that they practically don't exist. The aggravating factor is "Illegal Alien," one of the most embarrassing things I've ever listened to. more

When I have to talk about "Alchemy," I like to highlight a detail that may not be given the proper consideration. I'm referring to the Deluxe Edition with the attached DVD, where you can clearly see how the band, throughout the long concert, always plays with a prominent smile, a certain sign of an innate pleasure in presenting such masterpieces in Music to the audience. One of the live albums that I consider to be particularly well-done and of exquisite impact for fans of the English group. more

It falls just short (but not by much) of the stellar debut two years earlier. Great songs - my favorite remains "Magnolia," although the rock'n'roll hits like "When The Time Comes" and "I Need To Know" make an impression. The melody and guitars of the Byrds in the punk era. more
