Although there were already several reviews of this album, I decided to give my personal point of view on one of the least understood and unjustly hated works by Daft Punk.
If "Homework" embraced a concept of musical experimentation among electronic, dub, hip hop, and retro dance, while "Discovery" delivered samples with a kitschy Eighties flavor, this "Human After All" is an album much less immediate than it actually seems. There are only 10 tracks, making it the shortest Daft Punk album, even though it lasts almost 45 minutes in total. One might think the two astronauts are pulling a fast one on us when listening to the album as a first impression since the tracks have almost identical structures that repeat ad infinitum, probably to extend the album's duration itself. In truth, the Daft Punk formula hasn't changed at all; it has simply evolved. In some ways, it's an album where those who turned up their noses listening to "Discovery" and were expecting another "Homework" had to listen to it again with hard-headed determination, as, in some ways, it's not easy to summarize an album like this in a few words. What is certain is that Daft Punk continue to amaze, as they've always done, with an album with a fresh, full-bodied, and more aggressive sound, where the Eighties samples are abandoned, replaced by pounding vocoder vocals on which the entire concept of the songs is based, as in the traditions of electronic music groups in the early embryonic phases of the Eighties; constant references to the gigantic Kraftwerk are not coincidental.
The title track "Human After All" enters powerfully from the speakers and drags us into a whirlwind of rock-flavored sounds, making it impossible to remain still with each listen. Compelling in its apparent simplicity and monotony. It is followed by "The Prime Time Of Your Life", a track that enters broken like a sort of continuous refrain, up to a "masturbatory" finale in its growth, where the beat gradually increases to the final delirium. I absolutely recommend watching the video, one of the duo's best. Bold rock sounds return in "Robot Rock", one of the few episodes where a looped sample is repeated endlessly. The track is along the lines of the title track, less edgy in my opinion, but it does its dirty work. "Steam Machine" is one of the more aggressive episodes on the album, though smaller compared to previous tracks, despite potentially appealing more to those who loved the experimental Daft Punk over the "simpler" ones. It's time to take a break with "Make Love", 5 minutes of relaxation with soft musical accompaniment and a whispered guitar filling the atmosphere. Enjoyable.
After the calm, the storm returns with the album's most powerful track: "The Brainwasher", a rush of adrenaline turned into music. Together with "Steam Machine", it is the album's most violent moment, although personally, I prefer it. After the skit interlude "On/Off", comes a very elemental guitar under a marching rhythm, and "Television Rules The Nation" is Daft Punk's love declaration towards their German idols. The vocal lines and the powerful synth, which seems to come from another galaxy, dominate the scene. And we arrive at the album's hit par excellence: that obsessive "Technologic", one of the best moments of the work. It starts with a computer-generated voice that is already legendary, followed by an orgy of sound akin to slaps in the face, filling the atmosphere and making it even more neurotic in its irresistibility. The dreamy "Emotion" closes the album, a track that seems to belong to Daft Punk from the previous record. The sound becomes more melodic and static, no imposing vocal lines or aggressive sounds, simply a sweet-melancholic musical carpet with a late-party taste. 6 minutes that will test your patience, although it's one of the tastiest episodes.
"Human After All" is the revenge of Daft Punk. An album that once again distances the "stupid punks" from their comfort zone. A work that does not intend to reach the masses in a too direct or predictable manner. It's no coincidence that the tracks within (except for "Technologic" and "Robot Rock", but not even that much, in the end) are gems for a few palates, including the followers of Daft Punk who have been following their path since they were two youngsters, producing with a PC in a bedroom in 1997, one of the albums that changed the conception of electronic music in the world.

I thought a month and a half was too much; this is stuff that could have been done in a week.
What is completely missing are the ideas, which were certainly not lacking in previous works.

It is much more similar to Kraftwerk’s music than it seems, yet at the same time it is uniquely reimagined.
This 'Human after all' could have been titled 'Television World' or 'Television rules the nation', but in any case, no one thought of it before.

Only two robots could create such a work.
This CD is a big screw you to everyone who can’t grasp the genius that fills each song.

For the first time in my life, I felt a bit of disappointment with this fabulous duo.
Nice album, but it could have been better.

Working with trash in a genius manner is their job!
At first you say 'this is boring, it’s always the same loop,' but day after day you can’t help but listen to it.
