In the last 12 years, Chat Noir has been a piano-bass-drums trio that has performed original compositions without ever confining itself within genre labels, even though it is considered an acoustic jazz trio. Chat Noir has progressively expanded its vocabulary with the incorporation of electronic structures and sounds. The meeting of the two founding members Michele Cavallari and Luca Fogagnolo with ambient music composer J Schwalm for the recording of their sixth studio album leads them to explore new territories, freely playing the outer limits of what avant-garde music can be.
