Chat Noir is an Italian piano-bass-drums trio formed in 2002 (Michele Cavallari — piano, Luca Fogagnolo — double/electric bass, Giuliano Ferrari — drums). They perform mostly original compositions and blend Nordic-influenced jazz with electronic, ambient and post-rock elements.

Decoupage was released on Universal in 2007. The group formed in 2002 and emphasizes original pieces and ensemble presentation over standard solo/accompaniment roles. For their later recordings they worked with ambient composer J Schwalm (noted on their sixth studio album).
