Cervello

Melos Slideblues

Musically excellent as most of the progressive works of the time, nowadays bands like this are hard to find in Italy.

Curious is the cover of the vinyl record featuring a can of peeled tomatoes with an openable lid.

Explore Cervello's 'Melos' for a dive into classic Italian prog rock and its rich musical textures.

Cervello

Cervello are an Italian progressive rock group from Naples formed in 1971. They are best known for Melos (1973, Dischi Ricordi), a flute-driven, keyboard-free album with lyrics inspired by Greek mythology. The band featured guitarist/composer Corrado Rustici and vocalist Gianluigi Di Franco, with strong sax/flute colors by Giulio D’Ambrosio and drums by Remigio Esposito. A 2017 Tokyo live release documents a later-stage performance.
