English group formed in 1993 by Shaun Ryder and Bez after Happy Mondays, Black Grape blend Britpop, hip hop, funk and alternative dance. Their UK number-one debut It’s Great When You’re Straight...Yeah (1995) yielded hit singles including Reverend Black Grape, Kelly’s Heroes and In the Name of the Father; Stupid Stupid Stupid followed in 1997. After breaks and reunions, the band returned to release Pop Voodoo in 2017.
