Warning: this is a piece dictated by anger and disbelief rather than a proper review!
Let's give a nasty slap to those who call this record a "trivial thing"! Scaruffi, wave-rockers, and subjects of the like, as clearly demonstrated on their sites, should connect their brains (AND NOT THEIR ASSES) to their hands before writing anything about Black Flag by Enrico Rollini!
"My War": downgraded, with absolute arrogance, as a "minor work," as a two-bit metal-hardcore experiment, and as a chapter that can be easily ignored. Shame!!
Thank God there are fans, or rather, people who know what’s crap and what’s not!
"My War" is a loud and painful kick in the ass delivered against conformism, against sonic cleanliness, against good sentiments, and probably a hefty whack on the head of those who, as already pointed out, prattle on about music without understanding a damn thing!
Because, my dear ones, it may be true that the production of this record is somewhat amateur.... But what a beating!
All the anger, the frustration, and the paranoia present in Henry Rollins' skull are growlingly concentrated into nine damn songs! Unforgettable!
The first six songs, to be honest, approach the usual Black Flag style. Dynamic punk-hardcore, sometimes twisted and painful, yet served with bravado! Let's not forget, after all, that the guitarist is still the good Greg Ginn!
The last three bullets, however, seem created and shaped by a group of new Sabbaths. A group of neurotic Sabbaths, raised on Stooges injections and driven by the desire to justly shoot against everything and everyone.
"Nothing Left Inside", "Three Nights", and "Scream". Three titles to carve onto your skin and not forget! Not even after becoming arteriosclerotic!
Desperate screams, rotten and putrid riffs, debilitating slowness, heart-crushing lyrics able to make us understand how far we've all fallen!
Oh no, dear professors! As usual, you missed the mark completely! Henry Rollins and associates, obviously, couldn't care less about your chatter! Someone, with all their limitations, still needs to demystify them and give "Caesar what is Caesar's". This record has made its mark on the history of rock, the dirtiest and most malevolent kind, I mean! What would the Melvins, Nirvana, Kyuss, and Cathedral be without "My War"??
Was it necessary to reiterate this? Think whatever the heck you want! Certainly, I couldn't keep quiet after reading, perhaps belatedly, such idiotic judgments. Judgments written by my beloved... "kritikini"!!

My War is a sonic slap, in which the chilling screams of Rollins destroy and annihilate the punk impact of the early Flag.
My War is the album of the apocalypse, from which there is no return.
