Henry Rollins, Ginn, Stevenson, and Nixon in their best album, because it influenced the Nirvana, the Melvins, and the Mudhoney and above all, it made history for its harshness and musical texture.
As for the songs, My War is a sonic slap, IN WHICH THE CHILLING SCREAMS of Rollins destroy and annihilate the punk impact of the early Flag, highlighting an expressive, unique, and effective garage sound.
The album starts with "My War", devastating in its entirety, expressed in the garage-doom-punk chorus, in which R. assaults the microphone, with screams and sonic blasts reminiscent of the future Kurt Cobain of Bleach, absolutely apocalyptic.
"Can't Decide" and "Beat My Head Against The Wall" are rancid and dark tracks because they are united by Ginn's violent and desecrating guitar work, with vocal slashes from a Rollins in top form.
"I Love You" is the sick love song, almost a claustrophobic ballad, "Forever Time", and "The Swinging Man", are punk, garage, doom, and indie introductions to final tracks like "Nothing Left Inside", "Three Nights", and "Scream".
Slow and hard songs, in which R. reaches the extreme limits of vocal lament, in a very raw musical texture, where only a formless monster could survive.
My War is the album of the apocalypse, from which there is no return.

"My War is a loud and painful kick in the ass delivered against conformism, against sonic cleanliness, against good sentiments."
"The last three bullets... three titles to carve onto your skin and not forget! Not even after becoming arteriosclerotic!"
