THE REVIEW

Second album by Belly, led by Tanya Donelly, who, after the undeserved failure of this album, disbanded the group and dedicated herself to her solo career. The failure is and will remain one of the mysteries of 90s music. The album is certainly different from the first, which had achieved unexpected success, perhaps because it was more immediate and radio-friendly, but it is still one of the great albums of the period.

Summary by Bot

Belly's second album 'King' was a critical gem that ultimately failed commercially. Led by Tanya Donelly, the album marked a departure from their more radio-friendly debut. Despite its failure, 'King' remains one of the standout alternative rock albums of the 90s. The band's disbandment after this release makes the album a poignant milestone in the era's music scene.
