Belly is an American alternative rock band formed by Tanya Donelly in Boston in 1992. Their debut album Star (1993) was released on Sire/Reprise and contains several tracks frequently highlighted by reviewers. King followed and has been described by some reviewers as an underrated major album of the period.

Tanya Donelly had previously been a member of Throwing Muses and the Breeders. Star was released in 1993 on Sire/Reprise. King followed in the 1990s; the band disbanded soon after that release and later reunited, returning with new material including Dove.
