No, I am not a purist. I'm not one of those who knows everything but really everything about a certain artist and a lot but truly a lot about music in general. I don't only listen to music of absolute and certified quality (but by whom then?), although I do have my own strong biases.

But above all, I believe that any form of art is only assessable subjectively and therefore no evaluation is superior or inferior to another, but all should be respected as an expression of a personal judgment.

There are things I listen to that, if reviewed, would trigger my public lynching, and others that would probably earn me love and approval from many. Essentially, I think that “good” music requires a different listening—mindful and attentive. The pleasure derived from it certainly justifies the effort. However, there are moments when one simply does not feel like that kind of listening, and then something easier, made to strike immediately and sell, may also be okay.

In short, I have my favorite restaurants, appreciate great chefs, but if I’m a bit fed up sometimes, even McDonald's can be fine. Just be aware of it.

Greet with joy!
