The two angels arrived in Sodom at dusk, while Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom. As soon as he saw them, Lot got up, went to meet them, and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2- And he said: "My lords, come into the house of your servant: you will spend the night, wash your feet, and then, in the morning, when it is time, go on your way." They replied: "No, we will spend the night in the square." 3- But he insistited so much that they came to him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baked unleavened bread, and they ate. 4- Before they lay down, the men of the city, the inhabitants of Sodom, gathered around the house, young and old, all the people to the very last. 5- They called Lot and said to him: "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can abuse them!" 6- Lot went out to them at the entrance, closed the door behind him, 7- and said: "No, brothers, do not do evil! 8- Listen, I have two daughters who have not known a man; let me bring them out to you, and do with them as you please, but do not do anything to these men, for they have come under my roof."
