Music is strange and strange are the paths that lead a person to discover a type of music, love it and appreciate it. That's what happened to me the other night. I was talking with a friend who asked me to find a piece by a composer unknown to me.

I go looking and can't find the piece he wants on its own, but I find it included in an entire album. I download it and start listening, ending up literally struck by the beauty of his compositions.

I discover he is a Polish composer of classical music, and also, among other things, the author of many film soundtracks. Zbigniew Preisner (born Zbigniew Kowalski) in Bielsko-Biala on May 20, 1955.

I didn't find much information about him on the web, and honestly, what matters to me and is closest to my heart is to point out a great author to the Debaser community (and I reiterate, for me the album is more important than the review because we are on a site that should promote music among Debaserians and not at the Accademia della Crusca). For what I understand, and I've always said it, being a strummer, I write what my ears hear. We are facing one of the greatest contemporary composers.

This album is from 1995 and is called "Preisner's Music," and I must say it well conveys the idea of this composer's greatness when you listen to it, with celestial music, a beauty that leaves you stunned, female sopranos with voices that often characterize the pieces.

The use of classical instruments like piano, violins, harps, but also modern ones like the sax, choral parts of unique beauty.

In short, guys, a great discovery for me. I will buy all the records of this gentleman who I believe will become, if he hasn't already, part of contemporary classical music. Listen to believe.
