1993. The undersigned is 11 years old and wants a mustache. A really nice mustache. No, his idol is not the mysterious member of Ricchi & Poveri, whom even today for many (almost everyone) is "the one with the mustache from Ricchi & Poveri," but rather Yanni!

Yanni is Greek, he's cool, he plays new age (which is very trendy at that time), and in his spare time, he jams with the best musicians on earth in the most wonderful places on earth (he will also play in the Forbidden City in China and the Taj Mahal in India). And to think that Yanni doesn't even know how to write or read music scores.

So much so that one day, like a true Greek, at the peak of his fame, he wants to perform at the Theater of Herodes in Athens, a bit like you, yes I'm talking to you, dreaming musician, wanting to do a little concert at the Colosseum. Live worldwide.

Well, needless to say, this handsome mustached former Olympic swimmer (a very good-looking guy) succeeds in his endeavor and gets the green light: he will play at the Acropolis with the best musicians of the time.

The evening is perfect, the audience is at the highest level of emotional involvement, the atmosphere is dreamlike. The Acropolis is there, the orchestra is ready, the mustache is well-groomed: let's start maestro.

"Santorini" opens the dance in the best way. Here is all the Yanni possible and imaginable. An Overture tribute to his beautiful nation, pompous, romantic, in short, it paves the way for what many consider the second-best live concert of history. Honestly, I don't know what the first is, but this is undoubtedly a unique emotion from the first to the last note.

Yanni smiles continuously, for him, it's a dream coming true. He plays the piano but does not conduct the orchestra, after all, how could he since he can't read music scores. But he can compose, and he can compose well. "Keys To Imagination", "Until The Last Moment" excite and take on the task of transporting the listener into a magical evening where everything seems perfect.

"The Rain Must Fall" starts off measured and ends with a bass and violin solo that delivers the finishing blow to an audience increasingly immersed in a special evening, which they will surely remember for a very long time. It's pointless to list track by track how the concert evolves; a single note must be made for my favorite "Acrovaliú/Standing In Motion": a slow intro made with an instrument whose name I never remember, leading into an incredible emotional crescendo. Just enjoy it.

For me, at 11 years old, he was a cool guy with a mustache who put on a scary concert. After 17 years, I still enjoy listening to it. Actually, I still enjoy watching it. The concert is available both in CD and DVD format.

As far as I'm concerned, it's an absolute must.

Highly recommended

P.S. behave well, it's the first time!!!
