LA RECENSIONE

The Italian band Yakisoba, after a slew of split albums, demos, and compilations, reached their first true album in 2021 titled "Acid Bath Litanies." A fucking concentrate of goregrind comprised of 36 tracks for a duration of 29 minutes, where you experience a sonic meat grinder that is quite remarkable in terms of impact. Here, blast beats reign supreme, with no samples taken from horror films and no frivolous nonsense. Following an instrumental intro, 28 minutes of uninterrupted barrage with the vocalist's gurgling vocals and guitars that pulverize everything, not shying away from feeding the listener electrifying, lightning-speed solos. This album is a goregrind blender that will offer you no pause or rest; the sonic assault continues throughout all 36 tracks. Nice cover. The themes are the usual with titles like "Mandatory Amputation," "Splattered Stomach," "Severe Regurgitation Of Green Bile," and so on. With their first album, I can't help but commend Yakisoba. Where Goregrind is labeled almost as a joke genre, this group takes it upon themselves to honor it with "Acid Bath Litanies." A "serious" Goregrind album, as inappropriate as that term might be. Commended.
