World Party is the music project led by Welsh musician Karl Wallinger, known for a one-man-band approach blending pop, rock and folk. Formed in 1986, Wallinger writes and records much of the material himself.

Karl Wallinger left The Waterboys before forming World Party. Sinead O'Connor provided backing vocals on Goodbye Jumbo. Wallinger suffered a serious aneurysm and later recovered. Dumbing Up (2000) was reissued with a DVD according to the review.

The reviews praise Karl Wallinger's one-man-band approach and tasteful blend of pop, rock, folk and soul. Goodbye Jumbo is presented as his most successful and exemplary record. The review notes Sinead O'Connor's backing vocals and mentions Wallinger's serious health scare and recovery.
