In the world of cinephilia, there are breeds even worse than film critics, and those are the nostalgists!!! Those who, if you speak ill of a film from the 40s, will spit in your eye and say you understand nothing about cinema. For many people, old films are untouchable! All masterpieces! Or almost! Then there are those cult movies that are untouchable! Criticizing a cult means being ignorant! Well... I would like to vent my ignorance and take it out on these damn nostalgists and one of their so-called untouchable cults! That is, "Gone with the Wind." I'm tired of hearing about this film as the greatest masterpiece produced by Americans! I'm tired of hearing that this movie is "the film"! It's not true at all! We have given cult status to a film that could have been a masterpiece only from 1939 to 1941; by 1942, it already smelled musty! And people still say it's a film suitable for any era, but please!
I want to review this film by removing the label it has been given, I want to review the movie and not the cult. Well..., "Gone with the Wind" is a great vulgarity!!! One of the most tacky films I've ever seen!
But beyond all this, let's get to the actual film: a colossal bore lasting four hours! 224 minutes, 224 liters of milk to the knees! But let's analyze the so-acclaimed parts of the film.
The love story: what love story!!!!! In this film, there is everything except true love! People need to understand that Scarlett was a rich, spoiled slut and goose! The prototype of a perfect IDIOT! One who doesn't know what the hell she wants in life! I mean... she wants everything but is never content with anything, especially the dick!!! In this case, "one who doesn't know what the hell she wants" is a phrase that suits her perfectly! First, she wants to sleep with a half-artichoke, but he doesn't want her, and she, like a disgusting spoiled brat daughter of a rich daddy, used to doing whatever she wants and getting what she desires, does everything to have him! But the artichoke decides to marry a bourgeois of the crap kind, and so spoiled Scarlett frets… frets… FRETS! She has her guts twisted! She's the typical bitch who doesn't want to lose! And so it frets her! It frets her completely!!! Then what happens? This bitch meets the rough hero soldier Rhett Butler, who is a rough macho fighter, and so wants to sleep with her in cold blood, and she rejects him because her little airheaded slutty goose still thinks of the big artichoke!!! And Butler keeps saving and courting her throughout the film instead of throwing her into the flames! Then at a certain point... after a kiss, rigorously without tongue, she realizes that perhaps Rhett's genital member could satisfy her for the rest of her damn life! And at the end of the film, when he is literally fed up and has realized that he has dealt with a brainless slut throughout the whole film, she looks at him, while he's about to slam the door in her face, and exclaims, "If you go, what will become of me? What will I do?" And unfortunately, because in '39 there was censorship for children, he had to respond with "frankly my dear, I don't give a damn," which translated means "Go to HELL!!" Now please! Can you tell me where the hell the love story would be? Yes, well... I didn't get the romantic sense! You're right... but excuse me.. I only saw a stupid "craves dicks" who made a poor bastard suffer for 200 minutes! But maybe I'm wrong! In any case, I would love to go back in time to beat Vivien Leigh with great violence!
A timeless film: here is another bullshit! "Gone with the Wind" is like Beatles' music, it went psychedelic! You can't say it's an ageless film! It shows all its years and badly! An extremely racist film where you hear the black say "yes, missus" throughout the film! (In this case, it's the Italian dubbers' fault, bigots and blockheads...) They just had to award the Oscar to the black actress! A pity Oscar as if to say, "see? We're so good that we even awarded a NEGRO!!!!!!!" Are we kidding? One who is framed throughout the movie bent over sweeping and mopping and preparing food for four bourgeoisian pieces of crap wins an Oscar? Was it a labor Oscar? Give me a break! ..
The Oscars: out of 10 Oscars, at least 10 should be taken away! Best editing!!! Okay, I understand there couldn't have been today's techniques back then but.. what the heck! It's uniquely flat! The slowest angle changes I've ever seen, the images move so slowly at times that you want to slit your wrists, just try watching "Modern Times" by Chaplin! An ancient movie but.. gosh what editing!! Come on.. let's admit it.. editing 4 hours of film in a more or less smooth manner isn't easy! But it didn't deserve the Oscar! Neither did the actors! Vivien was good at acting but... oh god.. too obnoxious! I can't stand her! It's like watching Marlon Brando in "The Godfather," he can be as good as he wants, win all the Oscars he wants but if you hate mafioso themes and mafia films, you'd strangle him!!! The character Scarlett should be hated by every generation! She represents the model a girl should never become! Take the Oscar back! Immediately! and then there's the soundtrack! Two such boring ones!! That ridiculously puritanical and forcibly tear-jerking song! Who the heck could ever have imagined one day it would become the soundtrack of PORTA A PORTA! Only a slimy and falsely civilized guy like Bruno Vespa could inherit this CRAP song!!! 10 completely undeserved Oscars!
"Gone with the Wind" is a drag! It's boring, it's outdated! It now belongs to the middle ages, it smells rotten!, it's extremely moralistic, makes me vomit! It represents the narrow-mindedness of an era! A horrible epoch we should leave behind (the only beautiful thing was nature) It will never leave anything for future generations! I prefer DiCaprio in Titanic! At least that was truly a love story! She only wanted him! From a rich spoiled brat she transformed into a sweet and loving girl! Scarlett realizes at the end of the film that maybe she loves her suitor but... she remains obnoxious! ACID! ACID! How disgusting! The embodiment of antipathy in a woman! And so my thumb proudly goes down!!! Failed!

"Gone with the Wind is the greatest film in the history of this genre, with a great cast and settings that were undoubtedly impressive for its time."
"The film is therefore, besides a classic love story, also a psychological tale with well-rounded characters and a fantastic historical portrait."
