THE REVIEW

"People say I am a drinker but the truth is that I am sober half the time. People say I am a loser but beyond that, I am lucky……………." (Rolling Stone)

Vasco Rossi - Vocals

Vinnie Colaiuta, Gregg Bissonette - drums

Randy Jackson, Matt Bissonette, Davide Romani - bass

Stef Burns, Steve Farris, Andrea Braido, Mike Landau, Paolo Gianolio - guitars

Clara Moroni, Silvio Pozzoli, Nando Bonini - backing vocals

Celso Valli, Tullio Ferro - keyboards, organ, and strings

Undoubtedly, Vasco Rossi has always surrounded himself with great musicians who have qualitatively enhanced his repertoire……… Although in recent times it has "declined" in quality, because it's not said that one necessarily has something to say in life or is still capable of composing, while it may be that he has run out of ideas…………… The desire………… However, he continues to do it………… He must have realized that people…… To the masses, it doesn't matter what you have to say, the important thing is that you appear, that you are there, for "them", because it's a feud! A game too big? So that he continues to be "Il Vasco"….. The Vasco who today in the "MediaEvo" (an era as described by him in "Diario di Bordo") has nothing more to say!…….. The Vasco who thought he hated and feared the media while in truth flowed alongside them, the Vasco who snubbed the media while in reality, he made use of them…………….. Who knows why people always need to create idols, I just don't get them…….. Let's drop it…………

Yet there was a time when Il Blasco had a "light inside" and some, either because of their age or because they DID NOT have older siblings, did not experience those years…………

His lyrics were different, the way of playing was different, a varied, deepened, and curated sound ………….. He was young, HE WAS A BOHEMIAN………….. He had young ideas………… In a "priggish" Italy, he was that "jerk" parents would call a drug addict………… He would stay up for three straight days doing concerts and drawing and then, once in bed, he would fall into his own coma, to "resume" living after four………… Maybe he wasn't "too famous," in the sense of what the term signifies today and the way it's emphasized by the masses because today you're either "someone" or you're nobody………… In short, he was a guy ……… And the audience that listened to him was different too …………. And that says a lot.

Together with "Fronte del Palco" I consider this album the best produced by Vasco Rossi & Co.

Excellently structured, both in the themes addressed and in the structures and arrangements, at times gritty, it presents a much more Hard imprint compared to the previous ones, with a nihilistic if not irreverent vision of someone who has lived their life.

Vasco presents himself to the listener's eyes at times as a simple man, at others as a rocker, aware of what it means to be "someone" representing, almost paradoxically, his own addiction, through his own outburst, with anger………… But at the same time, he does not forget those themes, to handle with care as in "Sally", addressing those simple yet timeless values that support you in times of difficulty such as home, family, friends …………… A child, in the track "Benvenuto" and the kids as in "Praticamente Perfetto"........those who best represent THE PRESENT, in the frenetic hedonistic search and in their absurd deaths on Saturday nights, against the Media and Laity, ready to pass judgment to condemn in full hypocrisy.

A more introspective and psychological analysis, more truthful, if not stripped of its character's attire, as characterized by the tracks "Marea", "Gli Angeli" in short, are tracks that leave a mark.

An excellent Vasco before the inevitable artistic decline, which will begin with the years of mass success in 1998 with "Canzoni per me" (the title itself says a lot)………

Love him………….. and forget him

This album represents the darkest, most damned, 'politically incorrect', uneducational and tremendously fascinating record of Vasco’s entire career.

It’s a shame that after this extreme peak, the Blasco began an endless downward spiral.

Vasco offers his public the last and definitive proof that the label of a myth is not completely crazy and detached from the product.

When I want to hear good local music, this work along with his previous ones, gently placates my desire.

By Il Tarantiniano

'Nessun pericolo...per te remains the last great album by the most celebrated and controversial Italian rockstar of all time.'

'One of the most beautiful Italian songs of all time, dedicated to Maurizio Lolli, Vasco’s manager and friend, who died of lung cancer.'
