It seems completely unnecessary to remind you that this gentleman has been an integral part of Aut Aut, Allison Run, Ugly Things, comma, founded Massimo Volume, Il Santo Niente, tirelessly directed the Wake Up (three hundred concerts in nine years) and more recently has metamorphosed first into El Santo Nada and then into Umberto Palazzo and that's it.
Therefore: esteemed Dr. Giancarlo Onor... um, I meant to say Palazzo Umberto, commonly known as Umberto Palazzo, forgive me if I bother you with these vainglorious ramblings in the form of DeQuestions:
Einz) Primarily, as a good pest, I wonder, or rather ask you, which multimedia means of transportation you prefer for carrying out the para-musical migrations with your gear in tow. In other words: in these grim times of strict censorship and forced closures, how do you perceive the thorny issue of dockworker downloading, more or less wild, concerning human knowledge. It might seem like a stupid DeQuestion: and indeed it seems so.
Good question. I'll ask my friends in my next Facebook post. Actually, I've gone back to using the old, dear "Mule," but it happened just as I'm not downloading anything because I'm undergoing a 2011 music treatment weighing four gigs. I have a lot to listen to.
Deux) Suppose you were first on the chart(show) [Seimandi teaches] would you answer Five-questions-five of a senseless scrap metal sorter instead of basking among uninhibited groves of longing groupies (and/or gigolos)?
Or rather: how (un)easily is it to live of-and-for music today. [Because you (survive) by music, right?]
There are only about forty alternative bands/artists in Italy that can be said to live from doing concerts. I manage with a whole series of musical jobs, ranging from the very humble sound engineering to the artistic direction of venues where live music is played and danced to.
Quatre) Whoa! Didn't see me passing the three? The rascal tends towards the furtive stain!
Trois) Here it is! Three Vol. II) Having played a far-sighted role of crystalline stature within the often suffocating tricolor underground scene, comma, what is your opinion on the state of the nation {assuming there still persist one}, or: is there an independent boot-shaped scene worthy of note. And, if affirmative, does it need to be accompanied by parents?
It exists, but it's not visible, because the main channels are monopolized by the usual suspects. A great waste of ink, paper, and megabytes for very provincial stuff and great snobbery towards very valid things, but not well supported by various cliques. And I would say that the best is the parents' scene, not the children's, who unfortunately waste a lot of time behind the usual obsolete notables and therefore turn out to be, unlike the parents, obsolete.
Vier) Name Three (even by category) Vinyls, Cassettes, CDs, DVDs, etc. that are practically essential to take with you to the infamous desert island and/or leave to posterity to explain why the human race, by not listening to them, is destined for certain extinction. N.B. Remember to bring many batteries or a looooong enough extension cord.
The White Album by the Beatles, Let It Bleed by the Rolling Stones, and Funhouse by the Stooges.
Kimbe) What do you say: is it better to try to corrode/slash/mold the system from within (rotten & corrotten, as every good system worthy of that acronym) or a healthy yet uncompromising extra-parliamentary militancy: in practice... but, what makes you do it?
Obviously, we start defeated, but that is not a good reason not to make the victory sweat for those who start as winners. Let them suffer as much as we can make them suffer. In the street, you learn that if there's someone bigger than you who beats you up, it's no good just taking it, because they will always give you more, so you should never be an easy prey. One day you can always buy a gun, figuratively speaking, of course.
Last) And now a super classic: in the best (one might say) Marzullo-like tradition in closure, ask a question and (in the unlikely event you consider it worthy of a reply) give an answer. Or: should we have spoken about your new shadowy disc(cus) of the controra?
But maybe not.
