THE REVIEW

When associated with tiresome Anglophone expressions like "next big thing," this band might seem overrated to the point of being annoying. But if you stumble upon them by chance, because a friend plays you a song ("Cigarettes In The Theatre") without presenting it as some incredible discovery, you can certainly be pleasantly surprised by their light and danceable pop rock and decide to listen to the entire album.

I did, and I don't regret it: nothing new, actually quite familiar, but dusted off and rearranged in a way that feels flavorful.

Probably, like many albums of its kind, "Tourist History" will succumb to the test of time, because in the long run, there's little substance, but in my heart, I believe I'll always be happy to take a few spins to "Undercover Martyn" at parties.
